I heard that the Easter Bunny will visit the dog park so look for the doggy tin on the table to get your Spring Surprise!
As Journey and Stewart proclaim their love for one another this Valentines Day, be sure to check the park for some gourmet cookies made just for our dog park doggy Valentines! Smooches to all our 4 legged friends and their owners. We'll be battling the ankle deep mud until our next freeze over, but that's never stopped the long timer DP'ers. See ya at the park!!!
Well the New Years Parties are over and as we welcome in 2009, it's also time to remember to RENEW YOUR DOG LICENSE! The renew dates are from Dec.1 to Jan.31st. They're up to a whopping $20.00 each this year, but miss the deadline and you'll be paying double! Yikes... But as you know, a dog license is the best way to insure the return of your dog if it becomes lost. You can do it on line, or at several locations both east and west side. I feel as if I am so gifted to have my 2 sweet angels, Journey and Stewart. Our dogs can really cheer us up around the holidays if we're feeling down, or make a happy holiday season even better and more special. I know times are hard for most of us, but if you can please remember the dogs that still need our help and have no homes to enjoy this Christmas. If you can't swing a cash donation, many very needy places like The Friends Of The Cleveland Kennel, and The Cleve. Ken. can use items like towels blankets and food. THESE ARE THE MOST OVERLOOKED, UNDER FUNDED HAVENS FOR GREAT DOGS THAT DESERVE A SECOND CHANCE AT A NEW LIFE! We've been so lucky to have an extended fall this year, but lately the park has been a bit muddy. We old timers are used to it, fondly remembering things like "Remember the spring of '02 when the mud at the DP was so deep that it sucked the boot right off my foot! Ha, ha."
We must deal with the mud until the big freeze when the park ground stays hard until the muddy spring... Then we can enjoy our too short but very sweet summer together.

This year during Puppy Mill Action Week, Nov. 16 to 22, The HSUS asks that consumers work with local pet stores to encourage them to develop and implement "puppy friendly" policies by refusing to sell puppies in their store and supporting shelter adoptions instead. Puppy Mill Action Week consists of seven easy steps to take starting Nov. 16.

I am posting the picture of Grateful Paws as I do every Thanksgiving. We dog lovers have so much to be thankful for during this time. I cherish my time with Journey and Stewart. Our dogs are such a precious gift and seem to be here with us a short time compared to our lifespan on this planet. Enjoy every second! May you have a happy, healthy, bountiful Thanksgiving dear dog park friends. It's still worth a look on Thanksgiving Day at the park for a holiday treat from Journ. and Stew. I think that this is the first time I ever put another dog on the front page that wasn't one of mine. But I was going over some old Valentines Day Party pics. and remembered how cute this one was from 2004. It was as if he was posing just like the yellow dogs on the treat cans. Also, I didn't have a cute shot of Stewart in any Valentine bandana, and I didn't want him to be jealous, so I opted for a candid party shot. I think I'll post all those V Day shots so watch for them. I also will be sure to shoot a pic of Stew in Valentine garb this year. I've got plenty of Journ.
