CZECH DJ BREAKS DJ BUDDY LOVE'S WORLD RECORD!
Michal Bures, aka DJ Blue, has set a new unofficial Guinness World Record® club DJ marathon by playing music continuously for 81 hours, 6 minutes and 32 seconds. The record attempt took place at Lubina Nightclub in the Czech Republic and was transmitted live on the Internet. DJ Blue started his attempt on Thursday, March 11th at 10:00 AM local time and finished it on Sunday, March 14th just after 7:00 PM local time. This shatters the current official Guinness World Record® of 74 hours set by American DJ Martin Boss of Orlando in 2001, and also breaks the current unofficial record of 80 hours and 5 minutes set by American DJ BUDDY LOVE in 2003. DJ Blue will enter his attempt to be officially recognized as the Guinness World Record®. The process of official recognition can last several months and is guided by very strict rules. During the attempt, DJ Blue could only rest for 15 minutes after every eight hours. "I did have several hard moments, but I regenerated myself with fruits, nuts, energy drinks and honey, and this helped me," he said. DJ Blue played a total of 1,635 different vinyl records and CDs of electronic dance music during his record attempt. DJ BUDDY LOVE, who contacted DJ Blue during his record attempt via the Internet to offer his encouragement and congratulations, says he's very glad that the Czech DJ was successful and finished safely. "I know how hard it is on your body to do this sort of thing. There have been a few other attempts recently where the DJ collapsed before making it, so I'm very happy that DJ Blue made it without any problems. I hope he sleeps well!"

DJ BUDDY LOVE'S MOTHER LOSES BATTLE WITH BREAST CANCER
DJ BUDDY LOVE's mother, one of the greatest influences on and supporters of his career and his main source of inspiration during his Guinness World Record® attempts, has unfortunately lost her battle with breast cancer. Ruth R. Brown-Scales, a lifelong resident of Bellefontaine, Ohio, had appeared to be on the road to recovery and had spent Christmas with the entire family, but unexpectedly took a turn for the worse over the New Year's holiday. She slipped into a coma on New Year's Day and left us to join her husband and parents in heaven on the morning of January 2nd, 2004. DJ BUDDY LOVE and his family have asked that anyone wishing to send flowers would instead make a contribution of any size in her name to the Logan County, Ohio Cancer Resource Center of the American Cancer Society, which is located at Mary Rutan Hospital, 707 E. Mad River, Bellefontaine, Ohio 43311, phone 937-592-4015 (or check the ACS link below). An attempt was recently made to break the Guinness World Record® for the World's Longest Nonstop Club DJ Marathon of 80 hours and 5 minutes, currently held by DJ BUDDY LOVE of Toledo, Ohio.
