The Front (Screen)
This is a view of the front.
I built the entire screen frame using double layers of 1 x 4 glued together and braced with steel corners. The screen is # 12 artist canvas stretched around frame and stapled to the back. The entire screen is actually 108" x 76" but the use of the curtains and masking make it smaller (depending on aspect ratio). The canvas was then painted with Titanium white paint.
The curtains are used for side masking. The top and bottom masking are currently under construction. They will allow me to mask to any aspect ratio.
The raised ledge just below the screen is about 14" high and 16" wide. It was designed to hold my left, right and center channel speakers. This is a little low for these speakers so they are angled slightly upward toward the listener.
The left and right speakers are Klipsch Quintets and the center is a Cerwin-Vega Re 6c.
The last 3 photos are actual screen shots from DVD's being shown on the screen. 1.85:1 Aspect Ratio.
(These screen shots were taken before I added my line doubler)
