Dionne's Little Corner of the Universe
Okay. This is my first webpage. I really don't have a clue as to what I'm doing or want to do with this page, but here it is. I guess it's practice for the website I plan on teaching myself to build one day....soon? Maybe.
I'm an attorney and teacher now living in the L.A. area. I'm originally from Washington, D.C. Boy! Do I miss the East coast! But Cali weather has me hooked!
As you can tell by the glasses, I'm a nerd and proud of it! But a cool nerd, really. I call it "Goober Cool". Books, music and movies are my main interests. I've also fallen in love with hiking and camping. Roller-skating along the Strand is another favorite activity. I recently started golf lessons, which I'm totally digging. Next on the list: tennis lessons and musical instrument lessons. I haven't decided yet if it's gonna be guitar or piano. I'd also like to take a few art classes, such as pottery and stained glass. I like to cook (and I like to eat). That means working out regularly. Cheesecakes are my specialty. Yum!
Oh yeah. Going natural (or napptural) was the impetus for starting this page. I am among the thousands of Black women who've stopped chemically straightening their hair. I'm a more strident napptural in that I don't advocate any use of heat at all (i.e. no blowdrying, pressing, or flat-ironing). And chemicals of any kind are a big NO-NO! That includes texturizers and over-coloring to texturize the hair (loosen the texture).
