My Experience With Breast Cancer
My name is Dianne, age 56 I live in Wellington New Zealand.
I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in February 2000, having had many years of problems with Fibrocystic Disease and Microcalcification.
The type of Breast Cancer was Invasive Lobular Carcinoma, stage 3. Two Tumours one 35mm and another .4mm in the right breast.
My Pathology Report suggested the Tumours to be Estrogen Positive and Progesterone Negative.
My surgeon recommended combination treatment, which comprised Radiation, Chemotherapy and the drug Tamoxifin for 5 years.
Being Estrogen Positive, and Post Menopause, made me a suitable candidate for taking Tamoxifin.
Having given a lot of thought and talking things over with my husband, I decided that to go ahead with the treatment and give of my best, was the way to go. (I have a girlfriend who didn't believe in this treatment) Boy do I wish I had listened to her.
