FRENCH HOLIDAY GITE, SELF CATTERING AQUITAINE, SW
This is a beautifully converted old prune-drying barn. There are two double bedrooms,one has twin beds, both on-suite. One with bath, one with double size shower, carefully furnished with the additional comfort of ceiling fans.
A fitted kitchen fully equipped for self-catering, (fridge, cooker, microwave, washing machine, filter coffee maker, toaster, iron, etc.) The Large dining/lounge room has TV/Video, radio CD, wood gas stove. (There is a double sofa bed so that 6 people can be accommodated if required.) all rooms have exposed beams in high ceilings.
The lounge has French windows opening on to a large terrace, one half of which is covered, affording fantastic views & eating areas. Sunny for most of the day, you may even catch sight of the deer or birds of prey whilst sipping your wine.
We have renovated carefully to keep the character of the place, with a lovely cow byre feature and exposing the high roof with its lovely oak beams. For your comfort there are cooling fans for summer and heating for winter let. (Electric central heating plus Gas Stove that looks like a Wood Burner.)
We supply all Bedding, Towels etc; also pool towels are provided.
THE SUPERB POOL COMPLIES WITH THE NEW FRENCH SAFETY REGS and is for the private use of guests.
The Gite stands in it’s own grounds, quiet and private, ideal for sun bathing and picnicking but also conveniently placed, and is not that far away for visiting a variety of Châteaux’s, Bastide towns and many other attractions.
We have BIKES for your use for a small daily charge.
Villereal is just a short drive away with Intermarche, Pharmacie, Bakers, Bar, Restaurants, Doctors, Dentist etc.
The Town of Eymet on the river Dropt (canoe hire) is only about 30 mins away as is Bergerac & Villeneuve.
There is also a Leisure Lake not far away open to the end of September, for swimming, boating, fishing etc; it has a sandy shore & activities for children. There are various riding stables a short drive away.
There are several rivers nearby for fishing & canoeing & clean enough to swim in. (Fishing licence can be obtained locally.)
Only 30 mins from Bergerac & Villeneuve & under 2hrs from Bordeaux. Both Bordeaux & BERGERAC have airports.
Having stayed in various holiday accomodation ourselves in the past and having experienced what’s good and what’s not, hope that this shows in our accommodation.
We keep everything to a high standard in this delightful holiday house,it is idealy situated for most activities, especially well placed for househunting or just relaxing.
CHARGES: HIGH SEASON 850 euros a week. MID: 450 euros a week.
LOW: 280 euros a week. Special rate for long term let out of season.
We also have a large guest room for B&B in our 300 year old Farmhouse.
55 euros a night for 2 people.
