THE CONFEDERATION OF SOVEREIGN SOCIALIST REPUBLICS
The Confederation of Sovereign Socialist Republics, commonly referred to as the C.S.S.R., is closely aligned with the Imperial Commonwealth of Dewaconia. The C.S.S.R. is a member of the Commonwealth Pact for Economic Security and Protection; commonly referred to as ComPact-ESP. This "power-pact" is the international extention of Dewaconia's Imperial Pact of Phoenix-Dewaconia-Qrussia; commonly known as ImPact-PDQ. ComPact-ESP is instrumental in vitalizing economies and securities by means of membership trade and commerce, and the leasing of lands to the Imperial Commonwealth of Dewaconia for military complexes and installations. The C.S.S.R. is also a Charter Member of the International Council Of Nations; more commonly referred to as ICON. Additionally, the C.S.S.R. is a military member of the Iron Triangle Treaty Alliance / I.T.T.A. Commonly referred to as the "Iron Triangle"; member nations are pledged to support and sponser the free flow of commerce in both the Szeb Sea, and the Kozep Ocean as well.
Military members to the "Iron Triangle" include:
Imperial Commonwealth of Dewaconia / ICD,
Confederation of Sovereign Socialist Republics / CSSR,
People's Republic of Shangolia / PRS,
Nile-Afran Federation / NAF.
At the present time:
The People's Republic of Shangolia, and the Nile-Afran Federation;
are
"Governments-in-Exile".
Pictured above, is the Official Flag of the C.S.S.R. The flag is adorned with a double-headed black eagle, on a sea of red. The double-headed eagle is symbolic of the two republics that comprise this powerful confederation; the Republic of Vessland, and the Zech Republic. The sea of red symbolizes the blood that has been, and shall be shed for the "Fatherland."
The southern nation of the Zech Republic, and the northern nation of the Republic of Vessland; along with Dewaconia and the Phoenix States, were all former colonies of the Qrussian Empire, at the height of Qrussia's reign. After the defeat of the Qrussian Empire by Dewaconia and the Phoenix States; the Zech Republic and the Republic of Vessland, each sought their independence as seperate nations. After many years of border conflicts, and external intervention; both nations sought peace and prosperity, and formed the mutual confederation. This alliance was the salvation for both nations. Without this union, both nations would have fallen under foreign rule once again. After the establishment of the confederation; the trade between the two nations alone was not enough to bring about peace and prosperity to their people. Because of the past close ties and history with Dewaconia and the ruling Family of X-Zavior; Lord Vernoff and the leadership, petitioned for membership into the international "power pact" known as ComPact-ESP. This "power-pact" has stabilized the two economies, and created a strong and singular military. The centralized army is the result of membership in Dewaconia's international ComPact-ESP. This "power-pact" is also responsible for helping in the stablization of both nations economies; by means of trade and commerce. A strong economic and security posture, has brought the two nations of this confederation into the worlds view and attention. Today, the C.S.S.R. is an economic and military force to be recognized, and respected.
Although both nations of the Confederation can secede at any time from their union, with the proper protocol and time element; neither nation can withdraw from the "power-pact" of ComPact-ESP...."once a member, always a member". Currently the membership is between the Commonwealth and the Confederation; however, should both nations of the Confederation ever desolve their union; each nation will still remain as a member seperately, in the ComPact-ESP.
The title of the state reflects the operation and direction of the government:
"Confederation"
refers to the economic and military pact between the two nations,
"Sovereign"
refers to the ruling House of Veernoff,
"Socialist"
refers to the form of government,
"Republic"
refers to the rights of the citizens of this union.
The House of Veernoff, is currently ruled by Lord Xerxes Veernoff; the first cousin to Commiczar X-Zavior of Dewaconia. It was the powerful and wealthy House of Veernoff; that was the catalyst for uniting both nations into the current confederation. Prior to the establishment of the confederation, the Veernoff Family was instrumental in the collapse and defeat of the Qrussian Empire. Although never directly involved in war against Qrussia; the House of Veernoff, loaned vast sums of monies and materials, to Dewaconia and the Phoenix States. This aid helped greatly in the defeat of the Qrussian Empire; which ultimately brought independence to people of Vessland and Zech. Time eventually brought these two nations together; thus forming the current confederation.
Lord Xerxes Veernoff is the Supreme Minister of the Confederation of Sovereign Socialist Republics. The House of Veernoff owns, operates, and controls vast financial and powerful interest in both nations of this confederation. Lord Veernoff and the Vernoff Family reside at three Official Residencies; one at Vess, capital city of the Republic of Vessland; one at Zech, capital city of the Zech Republic; and one at Veern, the internal border city and ancestrial home of the House Veernoff Dynasty. Lord Veernoff spends equal time in both republic capitals, and makes frequent State Visits to Solograd; the capital city of both Dewaconia, and the Imperial Commonwealth. Some see the Vernoff Family as a mere "puppet" to the Imperial Family of X-Zavior; and view the Confederation of Sovereign Socialist Republics / CSSR as a "satellite state" to the Imperial Commonwealth of Dewaconia. These views and opinions are dispelled by both families and nations.
Each nation of the CSSR has it's own appointed Prime Minister. These appointments are by the Supreme Minister, Lord Xerxes Veernoff; with the approval of Commiczar X-Zavior of Dewaconia.
The terms of office for both Prime Ministers is contingent upon the current needs of the two nations. Other officials of the governments are elected by the citizens of each nation. The governments of the two nations, and the structure of the Confederation; are closely modeled after the
Imperial Commonwealth of Dewaconia.
The Confederation of Sovereign Socialist Republics has annexed the majority of the southern polar region. The minor continent is governed as a "special territory" of the CSSR.
The official name for this territory is:
"Special Territory of Sopolarica / C.S.S.R."
