Hi my name is Devan Kreager; I'm 3 years old.
After I was born my mom and dad were told that I had PVL. Later to be diagnosed with spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy. PVL is one of the most important causes of cerebral palsy and other long-term handicaps. It is primarily seen in premature infants with the most prematurely born infants being the most likely to have this problem. I was born premature.
I struggle with physical and other challenges every day. I am unable to walk, sit up unassisted for any period of time, crawl, eat very little solid foods and I can not talk, but do make sounds. I still nurse from a bottle with my moms help. I receive physical and occupational therapy three times a week each, and speech two times a week.
Cerebral palsy is any of a host of neurological disorders that appears early in life and permanently affects body movement and muscle coordination. There is no cure, but capabilities can be improved with therapy, orthotic devices, medications and sometimes surgery.

Due to rain and bad weather we had to cancel the Paint Ball event once again..Let's hope we can get a good weekend day soon to help raise the money to help Devan. Any and ALL donations appreciated! Stay tuned for information on when Paintball Valley is going to reschedule.

We want to thank everyone putting together this event.
Also due to the insurance not covering these treatments the family has an ongoing fundraiser to send Devan to Lamperts Pediatric Clinic, and any other place we can find that will benefit him. Lamperts specializies in Intensive Therapy utilizing the TheraSuit Method. The price of the three week program is $4500.00 and can be done 3-4 times a year depending on the child. This does not include flights or a place to stay. The TheraSuit is a flexible, orthotic device connected to elastic bands that can be hooked to a series of weights and pulleys to gently stretch the body into proper alignment. "It's really hard-core resistance training," occupational therapist Harold Lampert said. He calls it boot camp.
Devan has done 2 series of treatments to date. Although it is very hard work it is paying off already! He is sitting by himself for almost 2 minutes!!!! This was his second series there, with your help we would like to send him back for another series of treatments. The exercises can be grueling. But the benefits can be so rewarding. Devans family is very excited to send him back again.
We would also like Devan to go to another conductive education program like the one he did at Ability Camp in Jan 2007.
The price of that program there(ABILITY CAMP)with the Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) runs $8800.00. Which does not include flight or food.
