All About Me
Hi..........
My name is Debbie Wassmann. I was born and raised in Massachusettes, traveled to California after school, met my husband, married and stayed there long enough for my son, Jim to be born there. We moved to New York, when Jim was 18 months old, where we lived for three years. It was here that my daughter Julie was born. We then moved back to Massachusettes, where we built a house and raised our children.
While raising the children, I worked nights so we didn't have to worry about babysitters. I spent most of those years waitressing and bartending, enjoying every day/night of it. I have always been a people person and enjoyed the contact with so many different personalities. By working nights, it gave me plenty of time to play with my children and work in my gardens, which I still love to do. I taught them many things, played indoor and outdoor games, always having all the neighbor children congregate in our yard with us.
When the kids grew, I worked full time for Frito Lay Chips, I drove their stepvan, selling and servicing Grocery stores and any other little place that sold chips. I retired from Frito Lay in 1992.
One of my favorite things to do is/was cooking, trying and making up new recipies. My son, Jim and nephew, Stephen were always interested in what I was making and how I did it, so they learnt to be good cooks also. My daughter Julie wasn't interested until she married, then she called me every day for the first few years. She is now a very good cook too.
A few other things that I love to do now, in my "senior" years is painting, photography, writing, antiqueing and searching for the limitless information on my computer.
I now live in a paradise called Florida where I have found a new way of gardening year round. Here I collect many things, my favorite being Angels and costume jewelry. Hence the fairy above.
