Dave is a 47 year old professional pianist/singer/entertainer who has been touring & entertaining around North Central Indiana & Illinois for the past four years. His current tour, "In Aubreys Memory", kicks off the fifth consecutive year of this solo act.
"In Aubreys Memory" is a tour dedicated to the everlasting memory of his daughter, Aubrey Leigh Travers, who passed away at just 21 days of age. Aubrey was almost three months pre-mature & weighed just a mere 1 lb., 14 1/2oz when she was born. On the 20th day, she developed a deadly infection known as NAC from her feeding tube & passed away the next afternoon. The greiving period for Dave & his fiancee' Susan has never ended, but instead it has taken a turn to help them cope with the loss of their daughter. Playing music & being a musician was our hope for Aubrey, & to have her next to me while I was performing live would have been the highlight of my career, Dave sighs. Now, she is always there in my heart & soul, & every song that I play or sing is for her.
Aubrey got her name from the song "Aubrey", made popular by the band Bread w/David Gates. It was a beautiful song for such a beautiful, tiny, & fragile baby girl. I now perform "Aubrey" as my closing song every time I play or sing.
Dave has been a professional musician since 1975 when he embarked on his own career in music & started performing at the age of 17. He is currently touring the cities of North Central Indiana & Illinois, as well as other places. Dave is seeking bookings at nightspots, nightclubs, restaurants, lounges, nursing homes, retirement communities, weddings, & other events. He is also seeking sponsorship of his tour, as all his expenses are paid for by him out of pocket at this time.
He is also writing a book entitled - " The Piano Man - Playing It From The Heart ". This is an autobiography of his musical career, spanning the past 41 years. He should have it done later this year, & will submit both books for publishing at that time.
Dave will be recording his first ever CD on March 26 & 27, 2005, at SOUND LOGIC Studios outside of Lafayette. Each CD will contain 14 of his original songs, backed by some of the finest area musicians. It will be released under the California Jack Productions label to be titled "Stay Awhile With Me". The cost of each CD will be $10.00 plus S & H, if ordered directly through Dave prior to public release in May. Once released to the public, the price will be $12.99 per CD.
