DAN'S BASEBALL CARDS
Hi, I'm Dan Dannis. Sounds like a great name for a ballplayer, doesn't it? (Too bad I couldn't hit, run, or field worth a crap.)
Thank's for visting my website. I first started collecting cards in 1958, at age 9. I am one of the lucky collectors whose mother saved my cards instead of throwing them out.
I got back into collecting in 1975 and was an active collector/trader until about 1990, when I got burned out trying to keep up with the numerous sets being sold each year. Life was so much easier and fun when there was only one card set to collect & trade. Who really cared what the card design looked like as long as you found a Mantle, Mays, or Koufax lying inside the pack you just opened?
My highest priority is to complete my Topps & Bowman sets from 1948-1982. I also collect Topps inserts, Fleer, Nu Card, T-206, E120, Zeenuts, Goudey, Play Ball, Berk Ross, Wheaties, Exhibits and just about any other piece of cardboard with a picture of a baseball player, as long as it's pre-1980.
(I may even be willing to accept a few Football cards, if they are pre-1960)
I do not buy cards. I have several thousand duplicates from 1952-1980 to trade. I prefer to trade common for common, and superstar for superstar, but will consider all trades.
I am not too concerned about condition, and will usually accept all cards sent for trade. I do not like cards with holes, tears, cuts, missing pieces, writing or marks on the front. But I would much rather have a card in Fair condition than no card at all. A card can always be upgraded at a later date. So if your card means filling a blank space on my page, I will probably accept it.
I hope I can fill some empty spots in your collection and you can do the same for me.
