The Middle Path -Part 1

The Middle Path Is Not Lined With Thornless Roses

There are two titles associated with the middle path and they are called "the path of self-undoing" or "the path of self-redemption." It is the return voyage home (back to the light) for all disciples, initiates, and adepts. Contrary to the Eastern as well as the Western world beliefs, this road is not a pleasant journey by any means. It is an unyielding path which is filled with obstacles that test and ripen the potential of each ego as he climbs, crawls and literally claws his way to the top of his personal mount.

It is also an extremely treacherous road, filled with illusion, deception and terror. The pitfalls, darkness and painful agonies with which each one is confronted are genuine. These seemingly real illusions are essential to the grooming of the evolving soul as it restyles the tapestry of its designing energy (which, by the way, is the force of his life). Continuous confrontations with life and the people who make up the life support system (which each ego must endure) focuses the soul's attention on the way in which he manipulates to survive. As he is bombarded by the natural effects which are the ramifications from his former and present unique life style, he begins to make the changes necessary in order that the errors of his past are corrected.

By the time a disciple reaches the degree of initiate, he is able to understand just how self-centered and selfish were his motivations, and how he subtly manipulated other souls to achieve some type of personal satisfaction or glory. As the initiate reaches the stage of adeptship, he understands the true meaning of consideration, compassion and contradiction. When the adept becomes the master, He is well qualified to know the difference between illusion and reality, via His gained understanding in deciphering of just what the riddles pertaining to all the timeless questions consist.

The middle path is a very hard and relentless journey, for it takes a long time to travel. Do not believe that it is filled with Earth-anointed saints and martyrs. These beliefs are the mystical as well as mythical illusions that entrap and snare you further into the illusion of glamour (a very dangerous foe). While treading this path, a true martyr will cry with the torment of "what he once was" many times, but despite the agonies to which he is repeatedly confronted, continues his journey with determination. As for sainthood, what is a saint? In its proper context this word implies "a good person." There are many suggestions of what a good person consists. We would say that a true saint would realize that perfection is a word that describes sterility, and with that type of understanding, he honors, respects and reveres LIFE! A true saint, therefore, is one who can give to others without any strings attached while living in a physical world and at the same time live life to its fullest. The Christ expression walks through life honoring the law, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."

The following paragraphs will describe the type of tests each level of attainment must endure (discipleship, initiate and adept) in order that the evolution of the soul progress forward. Please remember that all disciples, initiates and adepts, as well as beginning masters, must understand each step thoroughly before any promotion can take place. Therefore, the journey takes a lengthy time, and if one were to assume that he could complete a level of attainment in one short life term, he would not only be sadly misinformed, but suffering a grand illusion. The New Age promises that these journeys will be speeded up. However, the path will still be treacherous and deceptive for these illusions are the only way each soul can learn how to use his God Power intelligently.
