What Is Bunco?

Bunco dates back to the late 1800's and was played
by groups of women, children, and couples.

Traditionally most Bunco groups consist of 12,

PLAYING THE GAME:

• One player from each table starts the game by rolling all three dice at the same time. Each game starts with the rolling of ones. Points are accumulated by rolling the number of that round. Each one that you roll is worth 1 point.

• If you roll three of any other kind (3-twos, 3-threes, 3- fours, 3-fives, or 3-sixes) during your ones round, you score 5 points and continue rolling.

• You continue rolling using all 3 dice until you don't roll any more of the number that is up or a three-of-a-kind. Then it is the player to the lefts turn.

• If anyone during round 1 rolls 3- ones, then that is a "BUNCO” call it out and it is worth 23 points.
( 3- twos in round 2, 3- three's in round 3 and so on.)

• Fuzzy dice are passed from player to player as BUNCO’S are rolled. You can also pick out one of the small gifts.
• When you roll a Bunco, don't forget to give yourself, not your teammate,1 Bunco punch on your score sheet.

• If at this time or any other time a player or team at the "Bottom" table rolls a BUNCO or reaches 23 points the bell is rung & the round is over. The other players currently rolling finish their turn and collect their points.

• Total your points for that round and mark them down on your score sheet next to the round number.

• If any of the teams have a tie score there will be a roll-off to determine the winner.

• A Roll-Off is one complete turn around the table--rolling the current number "up"--while collecting points. The team with the most points after the Roll-Off is the winner.

•At the end of each round, The winning team at table #1 stays at that table.
The losing team from table #1 goes down to the "Bottom" table #4.

• The winning team from table #2 goes to the "Head" table #1. · The losing team from table #2 stays.

• The winning team from table #3 goes to table #2.
The losing team at table #3 Stays

· The winning team from table # 4 goes to table #3 · The losing team at table #4 stays at that table
(If you are staying at a table, one player moves over 1 chair so you will have a different partner for the next round.)

• Keep your score sheet with you at all times. Do not stay with your partner-- your new partner will be one person from the winning, or losing team, joining you at table #1, #2, #3, or table #4.

• The "Bottom" table rings the bell to signal the start of the new round.

• In round 2 you roll for twos, at the end of that round you rotate tables then start round 3 for threes and so on.

• At the End of each round add your current points with your previous points.

• A set is 6 complete rounds (1 – 6)
• Play continues for two complete sets. At this point, break for dessert and then continue the last 2 sets.

• The game ends when all 4 sets of Bunco have been completed.

• Each person adds up their total bunco’s and points then passes their score sheet across to their partner to proof. The partner writes the totals at the Top of their score sheet.

• Winners are determined by the total Points and Bunco’s at the end of the game. 10 Prizes are then awarded.
• If there is a tie score there is a Roll –off, the highest Roll after the roll-off receives the prize. If they are all tied for 1st place the winner receives 1st, the 2nd highest wins 2nd prize and the 3rd highest wins 3rd prize.

Prizes are as follows:
• *$ 20 ~ Most Points 1st • *$ 15 ~2nd • *$ 10 ~ 3rd
• *$ 7 ~ 4th • *$5 ~ 5th
• *$ 15 ~ Most Bunco’s • $ 7 ~ Last Bunco
• *$5 Lowest Points (Booby Prize)
• *$ 5 Door Prize ~~ ~~ Collect the remaining score sheets from players without prizes and draw a winner.

• If a player is eligible for more than one prize (excluding the last Bunco Prize) she will get the Highest $ Prize.
No players will receive more than one of the * main prizes.

• The Prize values equal a $6 contribution made by each player at the beginning of the game. The prizes or Cash are selected by the host prior to the game with the above contribution.
An additional $1 is collected to cover any expenses copies etc. and or Ghost players throughout the year. At the end of the year left over money is split among the reg players who have hosted once that year and who have attended 9 out of 12 of the Bunco nights.
They receive a free Bunco night.

• Game play host & location will rotate from month to month each Regular player will host at their house once a year/season.
(If you can’t host at your house for some reason, let me know and we will arrange another location for your month)

• Bunco will be held primarily on the 3rd Sat. of each month unless it’s a holiday then we will pick another day.

• If for any reason you can not make it to the next Bunco night please let me & /or the host for that month know as soon as possible so we can find a substitute player. If a sub is found, she will pay the $7 for that night. If no sub is found, then the regular player will be responsible to pay $6 and a ghost player will fill in.

• The host will provide dinner, snacks and basic bev. (Coffee, soda). She will also buy about 10 small inexpensive gifts (from the $1 store or ?) which are won when each person Bunco’s. (Remember she will only have to do this once a year)Dessert is optional.

• Dinner will be served from 6:00 – 7:00`PM ~ Game times Starts immediately following. If you are unable to make it for dinner Please be there by 6:45 So you won’t hold up the game and or have it start without you.
