Adam Sandler plays Little Nicky, the dim witted son of Satan (Harvey Kietel). When Nicky's two brothers (played by Tiny Lister and Rhys Ifans)are informed that they are not heir to the Devil's throne, they decide to leave Hell and wreak havok in New York City. Nicky is sent to Earth to bring his brothers back.

Unfortunately for Nicky, he cannot harness the same demonic powers as his brothers, making his quest a difficult one.

There are cameo appearences from Adam Sandler regulars Jon Lovitz, Rob Schneider and Henry Winkler. Along the way he also meets Patricia Arquette who provides the love interest.
Quentin Tarrantino makes a funny appearence as a blind preacher who is very accident prone.

Little Nicky has a few genuinely funny moments but not enough to keep your attention for the duration of the movie. Most of the laughs come from the cameo actors instead of Adam Sandler.
I must also warn you that Sandler's voice will get on your nerves before too long, as will his failed jokes.

Die-hard fans of Adam Sandler will most certainly be entertained, but the rest of us have to make do with the occasional chuckle. I couldn't help feel that this was a missed opportunity. Little Nicky is better then the other Devil film recently released (Bedazzled), but only just.

Cyber Rating: 2 out of 5
