I have been fostering dogs,training and helping home rescue dogs for many years. I have helped home dogs for the RSPCA and other organizations. I do a free behaviour help line for rescues.
TRAINING:
I use kind and fun methods of training. I use a "clicker" for positive re-enforcement. This is a small plastic box which has a metal strip inside. When pressed the strip produces a "Click" sound.. This means "Good dog, you did right". The quick "click" is very good as timing is essential in training and as the clicker has a split second sound . The dog gets praised insantly.
Using the clicker allows the dog to go at his own pace, takes pressure off of training and makes training much more fun, and like children, dogs learn more when they are enjoying their lessons!
Clicker training can be used from the day you bring your puppy home.....And its not just for young dogs!... dogs of all ages can learn with clicker training.
I do one-to-one sessions, working with the dog and owners, showing the owner how to use the clicker properly and how to work on the behaviours the owner may or may not want from the dog. It can take just a few minutes to introduce the clicker to the dog.
From basic obedience to behaviour problem solving....Do it the fun way!!
Consultations for behaviour problems, these normaly last for around 1 hour.
Basic training sessions are for 1 hour. All follow up sessions are at a reduced rate and last for an hour.These are all at a very reasonable rates.
