Writing for the Holidays! (& a Gift Shop Link!)
Seasons Greetings, fellow writers! I cannot wait to turn into a Christmas tree! To see what's posted, go above and click on "gallery," then click on the "View" button next to where it says "Verses of the Season," then choose one piece and double-click (any), and you can either click the "next" or "prev" buttons to see various pieces in full size, or try the slide show, which you can set to up to 30 seconds, for your viewing pleasure!
I would like to invite all to allow me to post one or more of their own pieces, or a favorite written holiday piece, to this, the Writing for the Holidays webpage! It has been created to bring Holiday cheer to the season and our holiday events. I have a program that easily converts Word .doc files into .jpg files, so just send me a Word document piece, and we're good to go!
I'm hoping that by the time Christmas comes, we'll have many great pieces to read for enjoyment at our respective gatherings! You can sit at your computer with family members and rejoice the season in writing! I would like to mention, that poems also make excellent decorations: just attach one to the front of a red or green "pouchee," stand it up, and, lo & behold, you have an instantly displayed fun and meaningful decoration! Feel free to send traditional, spiritual, comical, or any other kind of holiday witing that suits your seasonal fancy! The more variety, the better! I'll create separate gallery sections for them.
So NOW, just go to the gallery to see what's been posted! I currently have a Gallery section for Verses of the Season (aka: Poetry!).

A WINTERS SNOW

In season's light,
they fall,
a cool cloud's birth of brotherhood,
offered by an oblique sun.
Thousands,
no,
millions,
this
cascading,
crystalline
curtain!
A Winter's Snow
Free flowing partners,
embracing kinship wrought in cold resilience:
Some, splintering out,
land a jutting alliance of frozen blades.
Others lock latticed fingers.
Many, lay hand upon icy hand;
their hard pact, in preservation.
Their law:
A cold call for another kind of survival.
Their fall:
Moving all to frozen awe
of their world.
