CONROY'S OLD BAR.
"Unique" self catering holiday home.
On entering Conroy's, you could be mistaken for thinking it is a typically, quaint, Irish country pub. On closer inspection, you will see that this is no "normal" bar. Conroy's no longer serves the public (as it no longer holds a liquor licence). And so, it has been discreetly adapted, into very comfortable and homely two bedroomed holiday accommodation.(sleeps 4/5 + cot).
The Lounge, with it's roaring turf fire, has been left virtually untouched. (Although it does still accommodate modern day living with t.v/d.v.d and c.d/stereo and sky tv.) What was origionally the snug is now a double bedroom ensuite. The kitchen is carefully disguised behind the beautiful, highly polished, mahogany bar, complete with fully working pumps and optics.(full size cooker, microwave, washing machine and dryer etc.)
The second bedroom, with it's super king size bed, is in, what was once the cellar/store room. Complete with the origional beer barrel delivery door.
The main bathroom houses a w.c, basin and double shower.
Conroy's is fully centrally heated, and all electric and fuel are included.
Outside there is off road parking to the front. To the rear, there is a private garden with lawn and flower beds, veranda, BBQ area and seating areas, all with views over the Tipperary countryside.
Aglish is located in the heart of rural Ireland, in North Tipperary, close to the small town of Borrisokane.(Bordering Counties Galway, Clare and Offaly.) Borrisokane (approx 4 miles) is the nearest convenience store, post office, doctors, butchers, petrol station etc. although next door to Conroy's you will find a small tuck shop which sells the basic emergency groceries. Aglish also has it's own village pub. (that is licenced to sell liquor !)
We are approx. 2 hours from Dublin. 1 Hour from both Limerick and Galway cities and approx. 1 and a half hours from Shannon airport.
We are only a few minutes drive from Lough Derg, renouned for it's fishing, boating and watersports. The quaint village of Terryglass with it's bars, restaurants and yearly arts festival is a short drive away, as is the town of Portumna, also situated on Lough Derg, with it's castle, woodland walks, golf course, harbours and boat hire.
There are numerous golf courses within a 20 mile radius of Conroy's.
Conroy's is available with a stocked bar on request.(price list available).
Available all year, weekly (and nightly by arrangement). Conroy's has an atmosphere that has to be experienced to be believed. For a truly unique holiday, where you HAVE to unwind, Conroy's Old Bar is the place to be.
Please note: Inside Conroy's Old Bar is strictly no smoking, there is however, a covered smoking area, available to the rear of the property.
