Commotions

A shimmering vortex opened up in a crowded marketplace. Everyone looked around stunned at seeing Remmy, Diana, Amanda and Quinn (in Mallory`s body) exiting the vortex. (Of course Wade was there too, but no-one could see her.)
"We better make a quick departure from this place. Find somewhere quiet." Amanda announced.
"I agree, but I thought this was Remmy`s world. I don`t see any Kromaggs!" Quinn said. (but with Mallory`s voice.)
Everyone looked around and agreed, on the way to finding somewhere quiet.
"Well, I`ve got an explanation for that." Amanda said.
"Now, you`ve got me curious. And what`s it you`ve got to tell us
about Colin?" Remmy spoke.
"Yeah." Quinn said.
So, Amanda starting telling the sliders about the Kromaggs and the Colin commotion.
She told them of how when Wade and Remmy jumped into the vortex on the world they were on before the world where they encountered the Kromaggs for the second time. Of how the vortex somehow read thier minds and made thier worst fears reality.
"So, you are saying the whole thing was some sort of big hologram?" Wade asked Amanda telepathically..
"Yeah, I think that Rickman (before he died) implanted a device in your brain, that reacted to the vortexes energies to produce the holographic world you were in." Amanda explained.
Then Amanda continued to explain that Quinn`s and Maggie`s implants didn`t respond until they also were deposited on the Kromagg holographic world 3 months later.This is because Rickman pre-programmed the implant only for when Quinn and Maggie went to a specific worlds co-ordinates. And Maggie`s little episode when she had breathing difficulties was all psychosomatic because she thought you were on your homeworld.
"So, it wasn`t my homeworld afterall?" Remmy asked.
"And my real homeworld is still safe from the Kromaggs and the same one as Remmy`s afterall?" Quinn asked excitedly.
"Yes. To both of your questions." Amanda said.
Amanda continued, saying thus the Amanda in the Kromagg holographic world wasn`t her. Thus, Quinn has`nt got a brother named Colin. Before everyone started asking questions again, she explained that once the Kromaggs found out Quinn believed he had a brother they decided to play along. So, they found a brother for Quinn that actually was one of his duplicates brother and deposited Colin on the world ready for you to find him.
"Okay...But where was my duplicate when all this was happenning?" Quinn (Inside Mallory`s body.) asked.
"Your duplicate actually died when he was a few weeks old. Colin never knew about him." Amanda replied.
"How do you know about all this?" Remmy asked.
"The seer told me."
"Of course."
"And how did you get to be on the seers world?" Quinn asked.
"The Kromaggs kidnapped me. You see when you came to our homeworld with Maggie (And she became sick) the Kromaggs tracked you there with the tracking device you had in your brain. I thought I would never see you again after you left for the second time. Anyway, the Kromaggs for some reason didn`t invade that earth, but kidnapped me and brought me to the seers earth. Maybe they were planning to use me as a bargaining tool or something."
Suddenly, a woman came running down the road towards the sliders. It was Wade. Quinn stared at her in disbelief, then realised it must be Wade`s double.
"Help me. I`m being chased." Wade`s double screamed.
Of in the distance a car came racing along the road. A guy was behind the wheel driving and beside him was a woman carying a hefty gun aiming it at Wade. The woman was Maggie`s double on this world.
"GET DOWN" Quinn shouted.
But it was too late. The bullet from Maggie`s double slammed straight into Wade`s back and exploded through her chest sending gouts of blood with it. Wade`s body slumped to the ground where it lay in a pool of blood.
"NO." Quinn yelled and ran towards Wade. He ripped of his shirt, put it against Wade`s wounds to try and stop the blood flow, started applying CPR then yelled. "Someone ring an ambulance."
Inside the car Maggie declared. "That wil teach her to trespass on military property, hey?" And everyone in the car laughed.
Meanwhile, the car with Maggie inside sped by down the road into the distance until it was gone. A crowd was gathering around the sliders while Remmy ran off to a nearby phone to ring for help.
A few moments later Remmy came back and said. "The ambulance is on its way!"
Another few moments past then an ambulance screeched to a halt by where Wade was lying. The paramedics lay Wade on a stretcher and she, with the sliders by her side in the ambulance was rushed to hospital.
In Wade`s room at the hospital the doctors were examining Wade for a few minutes before one of them came out to the waiting room and said. "Hi my name is Dr Stevens, Wade is alright, but she is in a coma. Lucky you rang us just in time.
"How long will she be in a coma?" Diana asked
"We don`t know. Could be a week, month or she might never come out of it."
Everyone looked pained at what the Dr said.
"Thanks Dr Stevens." Diana said.
After the Dr left Amanda asked. "What now?"
"Wait guys!" A voice announced in everyone`s head, that only they could hear. It was of course thier Wade`s incoporeal mind talking to them telepathically. She continued. "You heard the Dr. My double could never recover from the coma. Well, I`ve got no body and she has no mind. Why don`t I just take over her mind, then it will be like she`s alive, but it will be me instead."
"I don`t know. What if she does come out of it." Quinn said, with Mallory`s voice.
"We don`t have a week or a month to wait. We slide tomorrow." Diana announced.
"Okay, Go for it girl." Remmy encouraged.
So, Wade did go for it. It was a matter of finding her double`s room and rejoining her mind to her body. In a matter of seconds the double`s body coughed into life like she was never in a coma. Wade had her body back. (or very close to.) The nurses came rushing into the room.
"I don`t believe it. She`s out of the coma." One of the nurses said in shock.
All Wade said was. "Hi, can I sign myself out please."
So, Wade signed herself out of the hospital. The sliders left with her 2 hours after the double was shot they had Wade back.
"Good to have you back." Everyone told Wade.
The next day at 2pm the sliders slid out of there and into the next world.
