Ch Pema is the foundation of Cold Mountain Akitas & the love of our lives! She has the intelligence & beauty that drew us to the Akita breed. Pema is a wonderful brood bitch sharing with her puppies the relaxed, funny, powerful qualities which allow them to move into their lives with confidence! Pema is now spayed and enjoys life as our companion.

Pema has the temperament and soundness we were looking for combined with the type that comes from generations of Top Winning Akitas (see pedigree below). At 9 1/2 years old she is full of vitality and love for life. Pema and her mate Charlie are our full time housedogs. Pema enriches our lives with her keen intelligence and her canine "sense of humor."
Pema was so much fun to show! She was always happy and finished completely owner/handled with 3 majors! Pema won her class at the ACA National Specialty in Denver 1999 (12-18 mos bitches...13 bitches entered).
We are indebted to Nancy Fisk and Akiko Akitas for the work she has accomplished with the Akita breed...for the foundation of Conformation, Therapy and Obedience Akitas upon which Pema has HER foundation.
