CLUB LAVERDA QLD INC INFORMATION
Club Laverda Queensland Inc (CLQ) is a motorcycle enthusiasts club - The chief aim of the club is to promote the LAVERDA motorcycle marque.
CLQ members offer a wealth of technical knowledge to LAVERDA owners.
CLQ meets monthly, conducts social day and weekend rides.
Not all CLQ members own a LAVERDA.
For some 22 years, CLUB LAVERDA QUEENSLAND has been host to the annual STORY BRIDGE CONCOURS - held in Captain Burke Park, Kangaroo Point, Brisbane.
This event was always held on the third Sunday of July each year.
Such was the success of the event that it has outgrown the modest area of the "park under the bridge" and from July 2011 will be hosted at the Cleveland Showgrounds, Long Street, Cleveland. Still on the 3rd Sunday in July - Sunday July 17th 2011.
The event, while promoting the LAVERDA marque and raising funds (by donation) for the Make a Wish Foundation, allows motorcycling enthusiasts to gather and show their machines. Some 14 classes (Continental >/< 750cc, British pre/post 1985, American pre/post evo, Japanese pre/post 1985, Classic, Street Special, Custom, Best paint, Competition and Outfit/Trailer) were represented this year with some 150 machines. First, second, and third trophies are awarded in each class. A $1500 cash prize is offered for "Best in Show" with awards given for "Hardest Ridden" and "Peoples Choice".
Club Laverda Queensland also hosts the LAVERDA AUSTRALIA RALLY - held each fourth year.
In promoting the Laverda Marque, members of Club Laverda Queensland proudly support the fine efforts of OZLAVERDA RACING.
