CLAYTIME serving the Developmentally Delayed/MR/VI
Our Mission is: to provide quality art lessons to individuals with developmenal disabilities. Encouraging self expression, personalizing our lessons to meet the unique needs of each individual. In addition to helping others to value the arts created by these individuals.
CLAYTIME INC. Provides art lessons to individuals 18 months and up. We specialize in art lessons for the Developmentally Disabled(DD), Mentally Retarded (MR) and the Visually Impaired VI), in addition to serving the general public.
We presently provide art lesson for individuals with autism, limited vision, completly blind, cerebral palsy, muscular dystophy, multiple sclerosis, down syndrome, hearing impaired, and multi handicapped.
We are also very deversified. We are proudly serving individual from a variety of ethnic groups, to include african american, hispanic, caucasian, asian, american indian, and multi-cultural.
Individuals with developmental disabilities who include Claytime as a part of their goal treatment plan may come to claytime weekly at no charge to them through December 31 2007. Space is limited
To date we serve about 40 individuals on a weekly basis.
HOW IS CLAYTIME INC. SUPPORTED?
CLAYTIME INC. is supported by grants, voluntary donations, memberships and a small fee for art lessons.
At present we have not received any funding from grants or government agencies.
We have over 75 Memberships. Memberships are $50.00 per year. Memberships include one free lesson on the potters wheel (a $25.00 value)and one item to glaze each month (a $180.00 value). In addition to 10% off all lessons. Members only may choose one of our four program.
Bronze $150.00 (25 lessons) a savings of over $250.00
Silver $250.00 (55 lessons) a savings of over $575.00
*Gold $500.00 (75 lessons) a savings of over $1300.00
*Platinum $1500.00 (200 lessons) a savings of over $3500.00
* Includes oil paintings and larger quanties in material and supplies. For the serious artist only. Annual membership is required.
Activities include but art not limited to:
Pottery; clay,pinch bowls, slab building, potters wheel, sculpture, ceramics, pouring molds, glazing,
Painting; watercolors, tempera, pastels, oil pastels, acrylics, oils, murals
Printmaking; collagraphy, mixed media, Jewelry making and so much more.
Most classes are $15.00 *All supplies included*
Claytime also provides art lessons to home schoolers on a weekly and monthly basis from Aug - Jun. No more than 10 students per class.
