Hello and welcome to the internet home of the LOGAN Family.
We are originally from Port Glasgow Scotland.My name is Steven and i am your host for this website.
The aim of this site is to record and present the family tree of the Logan family,to try and provide an insight into the past for all future Logan generations and any would be Geneaology researchers.
Geneaology is a a time consuming subject,people have been searching for their ancestors for years.This site will continually be "Under Construction" until the "family tree" has been completed.I hope you are not too dissapointed by your first visit as i only started the site in April 2004.The site will be constantly evolving,as more information and records are researched and verified.This is a lengthy process,so keep coming back for updates.I have traced our family line back to about 1800 so far,although a great deal of work still needs to be done to complete it.I have posted our direct Family Lineage in the gallery pages,as it stands today,i will obviously update this as the information becomes available.
Also,in our GALLERY Pages,i have included pictures,of Port Glasgow, past and present.We also have a Scottish History Section which lists information on Robert The Bruce,and his relationship with the Logan's.
The stained glass window for example in "Restalrig" church in Leith,
Edinburgh,bares testimony to Sir ROBERT and WALTER Logan,who were killed in Spain fighting the Moors,while escorting the then king of Scotland,Robert the Bruce's heart through the holy lands.You can view the photos of this magnificent stained glass window in the GALLERY section.The death of Sir Robert and Walter Logan,is symbolised by the Logan crest,which depicts a red heart with three nails piercing through it signifying the death of the three most prominent men in Scotland at the time.
The Logan Clan Motto is "Hoc Majorum Virtus" this is Gaelic and when translated means - "To The Valour Of My Ancestors"
