Chelomis Barnyard Kids
Thank you for visiting our website. We are small hobby breeders of Nigerian Dwarf, Mini Nubians and Pygmy Goats, we have a very limited number babies available for adoption to select families every spring. All of our kids are handled daily and come to you super friendly. We only breed our does once per year to give them time to heal their bodies and bond with their babies, besides who wants to be pregant all the time. We leave our babies naturally horned, I am not comfortable disbudding as I think it is a cruel procedure. I believe the horns are a natural part of the goat and we have never had any problems with our horned goats. We let our Dam's raise their babies unless they are unable to in which case we will bottle feed. We believe they are just as friendly either way, you will see when you visit our farm, our babies will be crawling all over you bottle raised or not. We believe it is important for goats to learn to be goats by being raised with their mom's in the pack and learning to trust humans through gentle contact from birth. I also do not like to rip the babies from their mom's, the babies are their children and they have the right to care for them. We prefer to stay in contact with the families who adopt one of our babies and welcome visits anytime. References are available upon request and we often require references from prospective buyers. We reserve the right to refuse a sale for any reason at any time. Below you will find an updated list of babies available for adoption or planned breedings.
I also Rescue unwanted goats of any breed. Please let me know if I can be of help. My boyfriend Chris and his friend Rick D love to be part of the Rescue process, please feel free to call them anytime if you know of a goat needing Rescue...or any animal for that matter....there's no animal too big or too small for these two kind souls.
