Scituate a Storm Ready Community
On Thursday, July 30,2009, the Storm Ready team from the National Weather Service came to the Scituate Fire Department to formally announce Scituate as a National Weather Service Storm Ready community. There are only seven other such communities so designated in Massachusetts. A Storm Ready community is recognized by the National Weather Service as one that has demonstrated excellent preparedness and has state of the art communications to make citizens aware of impending situations such as storms.

The Cedar Point Association donated a weather station to the Scituate Fire Department earlier this year and that allowed the department to complete one of requirements. Both the National Weather Service and members of the Scituate Fire Department wanted me to be sure to thank Association members for this support.
