HINES HOUSE ASSISTED LIVING FACILITY
The Hines House Assisted Living Facility is an option for dependent individuals and active seniors requiring pre or post-nursing home care who want to maintain their independence and privacy, but who require some limited supervision and support. Our Goal is to provide a home-like setting for those requiring pre or post-nursing home care. Our residential style accommodations include services such as housekeeping, laundry service and daily meals. With the support of a 24-hour certified nursing staff, we provide assistance with activities of daily living such as medication management, bathing, dressing and toileting if necessary. Customized service and care plans are developed based on individual resident needs.
We encourage our residents to participate in activities that promote physical and mental well-being while maximizing their opportunity for independence and creating an atmosphere for socialization and friendships.
The role of most nursing homes is to provide 24 hour specialized care for the very frail elderly or the terminally ill. With nursing home stays averaging $36,000 annually it wouldn't take long to wipe out the family assets.
Hines assisted living provides an alternative lifestyle at a much lower cost. Our prices range from $85.00 per day for a semi-private room to $120.00 per day for a luxury private room.
Located in the exclusive Tantallon Hills, a subdivision of Prince Georges County in Fort Washington, Maryland. This custom built Victorian style Facility blends southern charm with Victorian grace. It features a large wrap-a-round porch, a beautiful 20 x 20 sunroom with southern pine ceiling and an alcove housing a five-person hot tub. A large den/gathering room is setup with plenty of comfortable seating and a big screen TV/audio entertainment center. A spacious living room provides a formal atmosphere where residents can congregate and socialize. The dining room, when not used for eating, is equipped with an extra long table that provides a place for our residents to participate in games and activities. With a total capacity of eight beds, our residents enjoy the luxury of extra large private and semi-private rooms decorated with a touch of class. The Facility has electronic and passive security systems, and so much more.
Level of Care:
This facility and the staff is certified by the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygene to deliver Level 1 and Level 2 care. We are a Medicaid Waiver provider and can accept Medicaid Waiver recipients.
Applicants with early stage Alzheimers disease or other dementias are encouraged apply but will be admitted at the recommendation of our deligating nurse who will conduct a detailed entrance assessment. We are capable of providing assistance with following:
· Bathing - We have staff who can provide occaisonal assistance with bathing when necessary
· Dressing - occaisonal assistance when needed
· Eating - occaisonal assistance when needed
· Medication – Staff is trained and certified by the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygene in medication administration

· Transportation - We can coordinate/make arrangements for transportation to doctors, hospitals, shopping, and other places
· Housekeeping and Laundry
Meals and Dining Information
· 3 nutritious meals are prepared and served 7 days a week
· Minimum 2 snacks a day (residents able to make own snacks if preferred)
· Special and modified diets available such as Low sodium, Fat free Diabetic, or Vegetarian
· A choice of the large formal dining room or the nook area in kitchen for eating
