1994 Sightings.
January.Exact date and month unknown:
In 1994 a man walking his dog in Todwick, between Sheffield and Worksop, was
frightened by a black creature he said resembled a panther.
June
5th, Doncaster:
Lorry driver saw a large black cat eating in a field next to the M18 near Doncaster.

Scarborough:
Witnesses reported seeing a cat the size of a large black dog in a field near their back
garden.

9th, Hull:
Two anglers from Hull saw two big cats “with orange eyes” as they fished Wawne
drain. They were at first afraid to report the incident until recent reports from the
Driffield area gave them the courage to come forward.

12th apprx:
A woman reported seeing a “lion” padding through fields between Beeford and North
Frodingham.

17th, Rudston Parva near Bridlington:
Police closed off three square miles of moorland near the village after reports of a
lioness in the area.
Mrs. Sue Hutchinson saw the animal walk past the hedge at the end of her garden, and
then watched it for ten minutes through her binoculars.
She described it as 3 feet high with a long tail, and was certain that it was a lioness.
Tourists were advised to stay away from the area, and local people were told to stay
indoors.
Armed police, a RAF helicopter and vets then proceeded to search the area, which
lasted six and a half hours without any sign of the animal, police believed the report to
be genuine.
A 6ft area of flattened shrubbery in a nearby garden suggested to searchers that the
animal; may have spent a night there. Sue Hutchinson while watching the animal
observed it at one point urinating. Samples were later taken from the spot, but the
testing proved to be, “totally inconclusive.”

20th, Ruston Parva.
A farmer at Nafferton reported to the police that he had just seen a large lion cross his
land.
