THE STATE OF OHIO IS TRYING TO PASS A BILL HB 568 WHICH WILL BAN THE PITBULL FAMILY FROM THE WHOLE STATE.WHICH I'M STRONGLY AGAINST THIS BILL 568!!I DONT THINK THE BREED IS THE PROMBLEM THE DUMB @$$ OWNERS ARE THE REAL PROMBLEM.ASK YOURSELF IF THIS BILL PASSES WHERE IS OUR FREEDOM GOING???IS THIS STILL IN THE U.S.A. This is a petition for the breed known as pit bulls(AMERICAN STAFFORDSHIRE TERRIER)to be relieved from the vicious dog laws base upon a decision made be JUDGE GORMAN in the PAUL TELLINGS vs TOLEDO case/although the law presumes the breed is vicious, owners can bring evidence to court that their pit bull is not vicious, thereby relieving them of extra responsibility of owning a vicious dog.Please take the time to research Mr.Tellings case.
There are 11 or more breeds of dog that are label as pit -bull.So how can they say that the pit-bull breeds are more responsible for bite than any other breed.If you break down number of bite by number of individual breed of dogs they have less bite then other most breeds.These are some of the breed that are label pit-bull(American Staffordshire Terrier-Ca De Bou-Alano Espanol-Olde English Bulldogge-Pattedale Terrier-Dogo Argentino-all White Boxer-Presa Canario-Thai Ridgeback-Bull Terrier-Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldog)For many people , a Pit Bull is a a big headed dog, or a dog with cropped ears & For some it's a brindle dog, a big, stocky dog, or one with an eye patch.In the state Ohio if a dog look like an pitbull it will be treated like as pit-bull.When you are done please take a test at the FIND THE PIT link on bottom of screen and watch the results.
Some people said that they scared of the PIT-BULL family because they are vicious by genetics but some of the pit-bull breeds like the American Staffordshire Terrier have the same genetics as (BEAGLE/FOX HOUND & COON=KNOWN AS BLOOD HOUND)but they are not scared of these breeds because of their genetics???There are people how thinks that the pit-bull breeds are just plain killer but there is just as much of a chance if not more to be kill be an person driving with a small dog in thier lap.Most people how are scared of the pit-bull breed either never met an responsible pit bull owner or they are mainly scared because of the negtive image promoted by T.V./NEWS/MOVIE&MUSIC But the Pit-bull family is just like any other breed of dog all they want is a loving & caring home
Most pit bull(A.S.T.) laws are made to be to hard for most responsible pit bull(A.S.T.)owners to follow, which is not fair to the breed & their owners.I think the laws should be more like what I have listed below
1.The insurance should be more affordable like monthly payments & more like car insurance if the payments not paid you should be reported to the dog warden.
2.The city dog ord. should be the same on any breed that can do major damage to another dog or human like*( ROTTWIELERS,AKITAS,GERMAN SHEPHERDS,WOLF-HYBIRDS,CHOWS,SIBERIAN HUSKIES & MORE)if your a responsible owner this will not effect you any!
2.5 We must muzzle our dog when we walk her down the street.But what will happen when the people who don't confine their dogs or if a dog get loose & if they would to run up & attack how will I or my dog defend ourself if she is muzzled?
3.When you register the dog the dog warden should GIVE THE DOG A SERIES OF TEST like judging on the dog behavior & the owner home then make an decision on the behavior & living condtions if dog is vicious for how much the amount of the insurance is needed.---
{TODAY 8-28-07 A STATEMENT WAS MADE TO ME IN AN CHAT ROOM ABOUT THE LAWS FROM A dumb a^% THAT THE LAWS DOES NOT BUG HIM CAUSE HE CAN STILL FIGHT HIS DOG.MY OPINION IS=IF THE LAWS WOULD SEE OWNER HOME & THE DOG'S BEHAVIOR THEN IT HELP KEEP PEOPLE LIKE HIM FROM BEING ABLE TO FIGHTING THEIR DOGS}
4.The green sign should not have stereotyping word like PIT-BULL it should say (AMERICAN STAFFORDSHIRE TERRIER)OR THE BREED OF THE DOG.Unless the dog warden considers the dog to be a threat to the neighborhood then the sign should say(VICIOUS DOG)
(4.5)*When people see the sign WARNING PIT-BULL ON PREMISES the first thing they do is assume that my family must be dog-fighter or some type of a gangster & that my dog is dangerous.*
I’m a registered pit bull(A.S.T.) owner of Akron, Ohio reg#1157.I'm just a RESPONIBLE OWNER I'm not a BREEDER or KENNEL.I believes that the dog that I own is not vicious dog. I will go to near by neighbors to witness that my dog is not vicious nor is she a danger to anyone in my neighborhood. I’ll try to get them to list how they know my pit-bull(A.S.T.). Plus I’ll offer to let them meet the pit-bull(A.S.T.) if they are in question that she is vicious or not so that I can ease their beliefs that this breed of dog is a vicious animal & that the breed are well behaved dogs when raise right.
The word PIT BULL originated either from dog fighter's or rat baiting which either way the breed was tossed in an pit and made to fight dogs or rats for their lives.The breed was originally called ENGLISH BULL TERRIERS.Which the breed was trained to fight and they are 1. of the best but they aren't the only BREED used at the abusive sport of dog fighting.Which made them get called THE KING OF THE PITS + ENGLISH BULL TERRIERS = THE STEREOTYPING NAME PIT BULLS
The pounds in the state Ohio isn't allow to let you adopt any pit-bull or mixed pits because they say that the pit-bull family was bred for figthing for 200 years but during these 200 year & some this breed were also just a plain loving&caring family pets.So that means that all the dogs that is taked to the pound by either people who find them and are trying to help a dog or the dog taken by an dog warden for things that does not make the dog a danger and don't show any aggressive behavior.These innocent dog are never giving a chance to survive!!!!When people take them there to give them a figthing chance to survive.
For exp(today 1-4-08 I went down to pound to see if they would take my kittens and they tell me all 3 of them would be put down{I CANT DO THAT}& There was some guy was dropping off an friendly black male pitbull that he found in his yard right when I showed up down there.So I ask the pound if they was going to do the same with the pit they said yes so I ask if I could adopt him they tell they not allowed to sell pitbull or mixed pits.
WE OWN A AMERICAN STAFFORDSHIRE TERRIER not a PIT BULL.Me & my family think the word PIT BULL is an stereotyping word.I think that there should be no dog called a PIT-BULL unless that individual dog has been trained or used to fight.Not just one type of breed.
Responsible owners train their dog’s to be friendly,loving & caring to people & other animals.I think people(RICH OR POOR OF ALL RACES)who can stomach the abusive sport of dog fighting like (MIKE VICK)!!!! should get life in prison where they have no choice but fight for their lives.NO LESS THEN 5 TO 15 YEARS!!!!THEY PUT INNOCENT PEOPLES LIVES IN DANGER BY TRAINING THEIR DOGS TO FIGHT & IT'S ALSO UNFAIR & CRUEL TO THE ANIMALS TO BE TREATED LIKE.ALL BECAUSE SOME JERKS WANTS TO MAKE SOME QUICK CASH!!!AND FOR SOME PEOPLE IT'S JUST ENTERTAINMENT!!!!!
There are cities in the state of Ohio like TOLEDO/CINCINNATI that have changed the law because of responsible pit bull(A.S.T.) owners have shown proof that the pit bull (A.S.T.)breeds are not an vicious animal. The owners want to do what they are a told to do but some laws are to hard to a obey. The laws states that pit-bull owners most carry $ 100,000 insurance on the dogs but the insurance companies can deny you just because you own a pit-bull or mixed pit breed.Which means that when something happens to anyone's house or property who owns a pitbull breed that the owner/renter of property does not have any insurance to cover the damage that may have happen to the house that doesnt even involve the owner's dog.FOR EXP(OUR HOUSE WAS BROKEN INTO 2 YRS AGO AND WE HAD NO INSURANCE TO COVER THE DAMAGE TO OUR PROPERTY BECAUSE OF THE TYPE OF BREED WE OWN+FOR SOME PEOPLE THE HOUSE MIGHT HAVE CAUGHT ON FIRE)Getting this type of insurance should be more of an easy task to get.That there should be more companies to afford coverage & that the companies shouldn't be able to deny you because of the type of dog you own and more affordable for the responsible owners. These laws are unconstitutional for the dogs & owners. It costs $500=6mths-$1000=1year in a lump sum (no payments) and there are only 2 insurance companies that carry this form of insurance in the whole United States!!!!
