Looking for decent transportation with four doors that costs about Lm5000? The Hyundai Accent sedan is your car, because although everyone wants a Honda, everyone can afford a Hyundai. But don't approach your test drive with trepidation, because even though the Hyundai is inexpensive, it is not cheap. Hyundai's philosophy of inexpensive car manufacturing does not necessarily translate into crudeness of design. Nor does it translate into a car that is unsafe, because when it comes to safety, the Accent is up there with all its competitors, with optional four-channel anti-lock brakes, front and rear crumple zones, and dual air bags. The Accent has more safety features than you might expect from this price point. There is only one trim level available -- the GL -- but it comes fairly well equipped, so an additional trim level would be redundant. The only options offered are air conditioning, anti-lock brakes, a CD player, a four-speed automatic transmission, and a moonroof. With its fully independent suspension and willing engine, the Accent moves down the road quite nicely, with none of the rattle and buzz associated with cars of the subcompact class. For this kind of money, what more could you ask? The Accent is the answer, and one for which you will not have to make excuses.
