Carbon Manufacturing International is a South African based company. The company will manufacture high-grade charcoal briquettes and high-grade carbon pellets form biomass for the domestic and industrial markets, locally and internationally.

The company will seek partners on an international scale to sell and set up production plants to convert biomass into high-grade carbon fuel.

Biomass resources include wood, wood wastes, agricultural crops, their waste byproducts, municipal solid waste, animal wastes, waste from food processing and aquatic plants and algae.

The majority of biomass energy is produced from wood and wood wastes (64%), followed by municipal solid waste (24%), agricultural waste (5%) and landfill gasses (5%)

Dedicated energy crops – fast growing grasses and trees grown specifically for energy production – are also expected to make a significant contribution in the next few years.
