STUDENT OF THE MONTH!
The recipient of STUDENT OF THE MONTH AWARD is a student who has shown dedication towards their martial arts training, great effort in learning their rank lessons and class skills, and tries their best in class and outside the dojo. The student always answers respectfully with "Ma'am" and "Sir", is enthusiastic and displays a positive attitude in the class. The student also demonstrates a "YES, I CAN!" attitude and whose actions are an inspiration to others inside and outside the dojo!
The STUDENT OF THE MONTH will be awarded a ribbon, certificate, and medal of recognition, and will have the honor of wearing the STUDENT OF THE MONTH BELT! Privileges for the month include standing with the Sensei(s) for bowing in and out of class, being line leader, stretch leader, and choosing the class game when time allows at the end of class!

NOVEMBER'S STUDENT OF THE MONTH AWARDED TO...
November's Student of the Month Award is presented to Colby Chasse! Colby has demonstrated great improvement and effort in the dojo by developing his focus and self discipline. He has shown a tremendous determination in learning his martial arts lessons and his attitude of a serious karataka has become evident by his effort in class! His perseverance is noticable because he doesn't give up in becoming successful in accomplishing his rank material! Colby's teacher at school reports that Colby is a hard-working student who is always very respectful to the teachers and adults in the school. He is cooperative and often goes above and beyond the teacher's expectations on his homework. Colby enjoys playing with his friends at recess and is very proud of the many activities that he is involved in, such as fishing and Cub Scouts. Colby has a very close family which provides him with a happy, loving, and supportive home. He is a great boy and a son to be proud of!
Colby's Dad and Mom tell me he is a GREAT 8 year old! Colby tries his best in and out of the dojo. He has respect for himself and for others. Colby is supportive of his little brother Wyatt and loves teaching the martial arts to him! He is very proud of his accomplishments in Cub scouts, martial arts, team sports, swimming, fishing, and training his dog! Colby has a great attitude towards the martial arts and Mom and Dad are very proud of him!!

OCTOBER'S STUDENT OF THE MONTH AWARDED TO...
Congratulations to our Student of the Month, Elliot Stark! Elliot has earned this positive recognition for his continued dedication to his martial arts training. Elliot attended the complete summer session and brought to class his 150% effort, positive attitude, winning smile, and warm and caring friendship each and every time! Elliot shows great effort in learning his lessons and a genuine love for the arts! He is always upbeat, friendly and kind towards his clubmates and these attributes are a constant where ever he is! His parents and teacher reports that Elliot is a hard worker in school and always tries to complete his work on time. (He loves doing math problems at school.)He is a very caring and polite child and makes everyone around him feel good! His friendly personality shows as he likes to play with the children in his class and more importantly he likes helping them when they need it. Signs of a wonderful leader! I've heard that he also loves to sing and has a great voice so maybe we'll get to have him sing at one of our events!!! Elliot is now the senior rank in the Beginner's Kempo Kids Class and continues to demonstrate great leadership ideals!

JUNE'S STUDENT OF THE MONTH AWARDED TO...
Riley has shown such great commitment to her martial arts training throughout the 4 1/2 years she has been involved in it! She possesses a wonderful, quiet, patient, and helpful attitude which she consistently demonstrates while working with her fellow clubmates. Her leadership skills and ability to help the junior ranks around her stay focused and strive to do the best they can, is a testament to her goal of being a positive influence on her world around her! What has always stood out is Riley's determination to do her very best! She has a few times, declined a belt stripe or patch when she felt she could have done better and will ask her Sensei if she may come back another day to attempt the challenge, so to do a better job at it! She has the drive to push herself to excel and constantly does  so! Riley also possesses a patience that allows her to make the right decisions, morally and socially,that help her to stay on the path of becoming the kind of person everyone around her loves to be with!
In school, Riley demonstrates such enthusiasm for work, takes joy in succeeding and graciously learns from her mistakes. Riley never complains about the work the teacher gives her, she takes it and finishes it, asking questions as expected. Her teacher reports that Riley always does the right thing. She never gossips or speaks ill of another and is the first one to offer assistance to another child, either academically or emotionally. Riley has a wonderful sense of humor and is able to laugh at herself, quite a feat for a third grader! She never acts in a conceited or bossy way and is very humble, even when complimented. Her manners are impeccable.
At home, her parents write that the words determined, driven, dedicated, competitive, generous, loyal, and loving are just a few that come to mind! Riley has quite an amazing sense of focus for someone who is her age and she sets a goal and does not stop until she reached or has surpassed it! The phrase "I can't" isn't something Riley says! Riley has such an ability to love! Whether it be making a new student feel welcome, worrying about a friend on the playground, or telling her family how much she loves them, Riley has an incredibly loving heart!

MAY'S STUDENT OF THE MONTH AWARDED TO...
Modesty, Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Dedication, Indomitable Spirit are just a few of the principles of the Black Belt. Jillian has consistently demonstrated these principles in and out of the dojo!
Jillian impresses her Sensei(s) with a growing strength and self-confidence, determination in keeping up with the higher ranks in class, and always tries her best in whatever she can do and be! Jillian has a wonderfully friendly and kind attitude towards others and is a positive presence in the dojo! She is determined in learning her rank skills and techniques and shows an indomitable spirit as she perseveres in learning 1 pinan. She is truly a future black belt in the making! Jillian has developed from a shy, quiet girl into a martial artist with the ability to keep "a calm mind", which a black belt must possess in order to be successful!
Jillian's Mom and Dad are so proud of Jillian and the qualities she holds! They write that Jillian has a great and positive attitude and shows it by helping and teaching others and by helping at home.She always ask important questions and is learning how to be more independent and patient. She is very loving and caring to everyone and extends that kindness to her pets. She takes great care of them and loves them!
Jillian's teacher also commends Jillian on her constant hard work and diligence which has allowed her to become a student role model in her classroom. Her persevence shows in all tasks she attempts and has a great attitude towards her school work and her class mates. Jillian's teacher writes that Jillian has a loyal, soft-spoken, caring and empathetic demeanor and congratulates Jillian on her achievement!
