ATTITUDE:
by Charles Swindoll

The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life.

Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than success, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company...a church...a home.

The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past... we cannot change the fact that people will act a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude... I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it.
And so it is with you... we are in charge of our attitudes.

EMBRACE AND BRING THEM IN

Our philosophy is that the church should be a healing place, not an execution chamber. When hurting people come to our church we should send an ambulance and not a firing squad.

In the triage of our church, wounds are bound and broken hearts are healed. They must be able to rediscover Christ here because He will smile at them from the faces of the members and they can be touched through our hands.

They can grow through the messages and the prayers of the Pastor and Members will unleash God's power on their lives as they surrender to Him.

We need to praise God with them and let them know the joy of assembling together with others believers, belonging to a family to whom they can turn in times of joy and stress and devastation. They need to know the joy of being challenged by a preacher who calls them to a closer walk with Jesus.

Everyone that comes will know that the Holy Spirit is evident at the front door, where His power is at work in the ministries of the chruch, where they can be engaged and active, and experience the joy of riding in that ambulance that goes to the hurting world, and tells them that healing can be found in Jesus Christ, and that He's waiting to give it to them, if only they'll give themselves to Him.
