HAMILTONSTOVARE. USA. CALIFORNIA

Aug 5, 2006. I'd like to present CARMEN, the first Hamiltonstovare bitch in the United States (March, 2004). Her half-sister, Chiquitita of Meillion, made it also into the US around July of 2004. The only other Hamiltonstovare, I know of, in the US is also her brother, RUDY, (Oregon). My name is Carlos Sutter. My two boys and myself live in Brentwood, California [1 hour East from San Francisco]. I went to England to bring Carmen home in March of 2004; she was 12 weeks old at the time. She is 6 months old in this picture. She is a pure breed Hamiltonstovare; her breeder was Angela Leigh of Flixtonia (see her website below).

Carmen is our family pet. While my intention was NOT to go into the breeding business, I had the intention to breed her once, on her second heat/year (Dec 2006), with the intention of sharing her puppies with other passionate and caring individuals whom had fallen in love with this beautiful and elegant hound and prevent you from the ordeal of getting it all the way from England. I had hoped from there on someone else would have continued with selected and responsible breeding and hopefully together we could have developed a stock of great Hamiltons in the US. Regretably however, during my divorce, Carmen went with the ex, and she immediately proceeded to spade her. So, that is that.

However, I still hope I can furnish as much correct and/or direct information about this breed as I can to all of you folks out there that just like us at one point in time were lost and thirsty for information about this noble and gentle breed [headstrong at times :-)].

My sons and I get to see and play with Carmen from time to time. She is doing great.

2/6/08. Here is a sad update, which I will let my son Morgan tell you about it in his own words. It's been a while since the incident but I just didn't have the heart to post it, until today.
Hello,
My name is Morgan,I'm the son of Carlos Sutter. I'm e-mailing you, to tell you that in the year of 2006, our beautiful dog Carmen, died from eating a terrible plant called a SAGO PALM! It's EXTREMELY Poisonous to to animals! What happened is it was my grandfather's birthday, and we let Carmen out to do her business and we were brushing our teeth and we came outside and Carmen was eating the plant. So we rushed her to the Emergency Vet and they did everything they could to save her but, sadly she only lived 2 miserable months of her life. So we had to put her down because, she was very lethargic and not herself anymore. We now know that she is in a happier place!

P.S. Please tell everyone that you know That SAGO PALMS ARE EXTREMELY POISONOUS! Thanks!
Sincerely, Morgan Sutter
