5.NATIONAL NEGRO BUSINESS LEAGUE

Another organization Washington "founded"(The African) was the National Negro Business League. Originally established in Boston, Massachusetts in 1900, this organization was considered to be the "centerpiece"(The African) of Washington's views and was commited to the "financial and commercial development of minority America"(The African). Washington felt that this group would help to bring other African Americans together and "stressed...group solidarity"(Wright). Washington contributed the idea that each black individual should "create the financial resources needed to continue the upward climb"(Wright) of the Negro race into advanced or even equal placement in a mostly white society. By the first meeting of the National Negro Business League, many African Americans had previously "demonstrated their capacity to seize opportunities"(Wright) and Washington was the major influence of it all.
