Grace Prayer Bulletin #9
Tony Simon – Jerusalem
Tony Simon was saved through the witness of a Jewish believer in Israel. He was born of Jewish parents in Manchester, England and grew up in self righteousness. The witness of this Christian who used the Old Testament to speak of Jesus our Messiah was what God used to break the hardness of heart in this man’s life.
How The Work Began
Then God worked to bring Tony back to Israel the same the Russian Jews were returning to Israel. Tony studied the Hebrew Language along with many Russian Jews and discovered that they were opened to the Gospel. There is two congregations - one in Jerusalem and one in Kiriat Gat – a town of 90,000 which is sixty kilometers from Jerusalem. We have a free evangelistic tour every Friday. We take Russian immigrants and tourists around the Christian sights of the old City of Jerusalem and also the Garden Tomb. At the end of the tour we give out Bibles and other literature. We have between 10 –30 people every week. There are many Romanian foreign workers in Israel so we have started Romanian meetings in our Church building.
The Future
We have many plans in the future to further the Gospel in Israel.
Two very important ones that we would like to launch very soon are:
1. One hour broadcasts from a radio station in Bethlehem.
2. Opening a Christian hostel in Jerusalem.
