WHAT DOES A BUGHOLE TUNER� DO?
The BUGHOLE TUNER� is designed to do three things:
(1) Allow you to �tune� the harmonic vibrations of your barrel to match the characteristics of whatever rimfire ammunition you are firing thereby achieving tighter groups and more consistent accuracy.
(2) Provide stabilization and stress relief to the barreled-action.
(3) Provide a secondary means of elevation adjustment that will allow you to zero your scope with the reticle closer to the optimal center of its vertical adjustment range.
Barrel tuners are not unknown to rimfire enthusiasts. However, until now, they were very expensive, required a gunsmith to install, and completely changed the look, feel and balance of a sporting rifle. Well, not any longer! BUGHOLE TUNERS� is an inexpensive yet precision-made tuner that will go unnoticed on the shooting bench or in the hunting field. It is so lightweight that it will not change the balance of any rifle, and will not change the clean, elegant lines of sporting arms.
Many shooters have experienced difficulty stabilizing the barrel of a heavy-barreled rimfire rifle. Often it is a custom bull-barreled RUGER� 10/22� rifle, but it could be just about any semi-automatic or bolt-action rimfire rifle. Those long, heavy barrels put a lot of stress on a trim rimfire action, especially aluminum actions, and actions secured to the barrel by means other than threads. The result is aggravating fliers and inconsistent accuracy. The BUGHOLE TUNER� is designed to support the barrel near its muzzle thereby correcting barrel �droop.�
Another frustrating problem experienced by many rimfire shooters is mounting a scope that does not have enough windage or elevation adjustment range to properly zero on their rifle. Time and again we have seen shooters at the range with a rifle shooting an inch or more low even though the elevation adjustment of the scope is maxed out. This can happen with scopes using 1/8 or � minute click adjustments. The BUGHOLE TUNER� will save those shooters a lot of hassle, and allow them to get better performance out of their scope by zeroing the rifle with the scope reticle set closer to the middle of its adjustment range where the least distortion will be realized.
