Phoebe can't think of a good headline

Hi! Beyond my own belief (I'm a self-assessed tech-handicap), I have my own little
corner and my own little chair (that was almost hideously corny) in cyberspace.

In case you didn't know, my name is Phoebe Ann Jones. I'm young. I was born in San
Francisco, California somewhere in the 80s, and I've lived in Costa Rica a long time. I
speak English and Spanish fluently--also a smattering of French.
I'm passionate about a lot of things, but especially my friends and knowing about
people. Finding out other people's stories and views of the world is thought-provoking
and what essentially makes you grow. That right there is the finest point of the
Internet--because the Internet consists of mostly connecting with people.

The thing I'm best at is writing. My life-long ambition is to be some sort of presence in
the writing world. Mostly I'm interested in journalism (I'm a "Rolling Stone" obsessive),
but I'm keen on the idea of writing or editing children's books as well.

Before discussing myself some more, I feel a need to address a matter of considerable
substance. We haven't lived a day since mid-September, 2001 without being exposed
to it. What happened was one of the greatest tragedies to hit the human race, and it
affects every single one of us, as far as we think we are from the United States or the
Middle East. Help and be compassionate in any way you can, raise consciousness in
your community and pray for the prudence of our leaders, no matter how Bozo-like
you think they are. Learn from this experience so you can be a part of the solution for
tomorrow's worldwide crisis. Hopefully it won't be of such a calibre.

I've found that music is really comforting in this sorrowful time. Listen to Dylan a lot,
especially "Blood on the Tracks". "Shelter from the Storm" is one of the most
appropriate songs right now. Senseless pop ditties are wonderful too, although they're
wonderful ALWAYS. I found myself grinning to death over Katrina and the Waves'
"Walking on Sunshine" the other day when it played on the radio. It's a four-minute
bubblegum wonder. Just don't get too wrapped up in the Neptunes' beats in Britney's
new single. They are only momentary. Are you listening? Rob?

Cling to your friends and family and let them know you love them every single day.
That's the only way I can sleep at night.
