Success Secrets for Couples
Message to New Families...
I hope this message will be an inspiring one to all who read it.
I wouldn't be finished with my Minister's Duties if I didn't seek to enrich your spiritual lives as well as your family relationships. I'd like for you to consider the question, "What is God's will for my family?"
Let me suggest a three-fold answer:
1. That you would believe in Him.
And this is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, as He gave us commandment. (1 John 3:23)
Believe in who He is, in what He says, and in what He has done.
He is the Son of God, who bore our sins on the cross. He rose from the dead. He is the One before whom every knee must bow and every tongue must confess that He is Lord. All of us must appear before Him and be judged. Those who believe in Him will hear Him say, "Enter the joy prepared for you." He leads us in this life, convicting us of sin when we stray from Him. He gives us wisdom when we ask for it, and strength when we seek Him for it. He still performs literal miracles, even 2000 years after He ascended to heaven. He will return some day to welcome those who are following Him.
2. That your faith would have a profound impact on your day to day lives.
He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.
1 John 2:6)
...that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God... (Col. 1:10)
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. (Mt. 5:16)
If you haven?t yet experienced a life-changing conversion, cry out to God for one. Say, "Jesus, fill me with a strong faith in You that affects the way I live, how I think, and what I say to others."
3. That you would influence and convince others to believe in Him too.
Then He said to them, "Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men." (Mt. 4:19)
"Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven." (Mt. 10:32)
This isn't just for ministers. Everyone who believes in Him should tell others as they have the opportunity. He said, "Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men." Say to Him, "Show me what to say, and how to tell others about You. I want others to know You too!"
If these three things are happening in your lives, you will succeed as a couple, and have a blessed eternity too!
