The Brak Show

The Brak Show is a hilarious look at the formative years of Brak (obviously), who lives on his home planet with his little brother Sisto, best friend/bad influence/co-star/sidekick Zorak, and his parents, in a 50's style family sitcom-type enviroment. In this series (the 5th show that Brak and Zorak has ever been on), Williams Street parodies usual sitcom stereotypes, including the feared laugh-track, annoying neighbors, people slipping on freshly waxed linolium kitchen tiles for a cheap laugh, and, of course, the four foot tall shrink-ray victim of a father with a bizzare accent.

The Brak Show premiered on September 2nd, 2001, at 10:30pm. New episodes tend to be scarce, unfortunetly. In case you have a nephew or a little brother or sister or some other little kid in your house, you'd better put them to bed before watching this (along with the other Adult Swim shows), since there's a good amount of foul language. But, if you would prefer to warp the kid's mind while their still young (that's what my parents did, and look how I ended up!), all of the inappropriate stuff is used to good taste.(None of the profanity is used merely for shock value)

CAST OF CHARACTERS

BRAK
Once starring in his own variety show, Brak now has his own sitcom. Apparently, he's now going to high school with Zorak, who co-starred in the original Brak Show. If there's ANY reason whatsoever that Cartoon Network decided to give Brak this show, it would be because, in the words of the sponsors for Comedy Central's "That's My Bush!", "Because a Brilliant Man Deserves a Brilliant Sitcom".

ZORAK
As Brak's sidekick in nearly all of the shows the two have been on, Zorak keeps up his reputation as the disgruntled, foul mouthed co-star. He attends Brak's high school, where he continues to reek havoc upon the populus.

SISTO
A man of few words, Brak's little-known younger brother and former partner in crime has finally gotten some publicity. Unfortunetly, however, he doesn't really have any lines, he just communicates in farts. Also, he looks like a 4-foot tall Brak with a red and black shirt.

BRAK AND SISTO'S PARENTS-
DAD]Thanks to a shrink-ray incident, Brak's father is only four feet tall. He's always willing to give some words of wisdom with his signature Frenchy accent.

MOM]Yes, folks. This is Brak's infamous mother, the same woman who got so excited when Brak said he got a D in gym class that she baked him a cake, and sends her oldest son out to buy dairy products routinely. She tries to be one of those happy homemaker types, but it's difficult to do when your face looks like a deformed Brak face smeared with bright pink lipstick, and has orange skin. Nice voice, though.

MR.THUNDERCLEESE
The Guerta's giant techbot neighbor that's obsessed with lawn care, has fights with clonebots, and had a goldfish named Mister Tickles.

EPISODE/PILOT GUIDE

1) STEALTH PILOT:"Mr.Buck-Ba-Gock"

SYNOPSIS
In an attempt to boost his flailing popularity, Brak chicken-naps his rival high school's mascot, Mr.Buck-Ba-Gock, under Zorak's advice. As time goes on though, Brak decides to keep the bird as a pet, so he dresses him up in little bunny footie pajamas, and sneaks the chicken to school. Once there, he overhears some of the other students talking about the missing mascot. Just as he's about to take the chicken out of his backpack to show everyone, the students start talking about getting revenge on whoever took Mr.Buck-Ba-Gock. Brak shoves the bird into his backpack, and frantically runs home. He tosses his pet into his closet. Just then, Zorak climbs into the bedroom window, and tells Brak that he's now the most popular guy in school for telling everyone who took Mr.Buck-Ba-Gock. Brak whimpers in fear, then sees the chicken on top of his computer. Mr.Buck-Ba-Gock craps while he's on top of it, thus electrocuting and killing himself.

2) COMIC-CON EPISODE/EPISODE:"The War Next Door "

SYNOPSIS
During a bout between Mr.Thundercleese and a clonebot, Zorak accidentally gets whacked in the throat. This causes his to cough up a big, squishy pink lump that speaks in Zorak's voice, and gives Zorak a beautiful singing voice. The lump tells him that he now has a promising career in singing, and that he should enter the school's talent show. Brak, on the other hand, plans to sing his famous Potato Song that has won him every talnet show so far. At the show, Zorak sings this great song about kicking someone's ass, and wins first prize. (FYI, since I'm just piecing this episode together, and didn't see the entire episode, I'm assuming that Brak never got a chance to sing his Potato Song) Zorak continues to sing publicly around the planet, as the throat lump as his agent. Zorak sings songs that are only about making people hurt, how much he hates everyone, or kicking ass, but everyone still loves his singing. The throat lump becomes wealthy from Zorak's touring, and buys itself a mansion. Fed up of making everyone so freakin' happy, Zorak sends a disguised Brak over to the throat lump's mansion to get his original voice back. Somehow, the mission succeeds (like I said, I didn't get to watch this episode in it's entirety, so I don't know all the details), and Zorak swallows the lump, giving him his old cackle back, and ending his singing career.

3) PREMIERE EPISODE:"Goldfish"

SYNOPSIS
Mr. Thundercleese is off to battle some more techbots (NOTE-if I was wrong, I'll watch the ep again and get it right), and Brak is assigned to take care of his pet goldfish, Mr. Tickles. Before he left, Thundercleese tells Brak that three hams will kill the fish. The next morning, Brak and Zorak goes over to Thundercleese's to feed Tickles. In likely Brak-ish behavior, Brak feeds him a three ham omlette, thinking that Thundercleese says "Three hams will fill him", thus killing the fish. Zorak tells Brak to flush the corpse, but it jus backed up the toilet. He tells him to stomp on the dead fish to break up the body, and so Brak unwillingly does so. Feeling guilty, Brak goes home, and goes to bed. That night, Mr. Tickles' ghost comes over to Brak and tells him that he has a twin brother that lives in One-Fish Lake, and that if he can capture him and put him in his tank, Thundercleese will never know that his fish died. Brak heads over to One-Fish Lake (near the airport), and meets Don Tickles, a hermit goldfish that has grown a beard, and claims to have no brother. Brak goes home and asks his dad, but no useful answers. Finally, he decides to go see a movie with Zorak. Thundercleese runs into them and asks them about Mr. Tickles. Zorak tells him to go check the sewer, and Thundercleese almost kills him and Brak. Right before he shoots them, Mr. Tickles' ghost re-appears, and tells Thundercleese not to destroy these "two brilliant hamologists", thus saving Zorak and Brak.

4) "Time Machine"

SYNOPSIS
In order to go to Fish Pockets, his favorite restaurant, Brak must do his homework last Friday. Zorak must complete his homework also, or else he'll get another F, and he'll get sent to Grandma Prison. Convinced that something must be done, the two use a vacationing Thundercleese's Time Shed to time-travel back to last Friday. They track down themselves, and all four of them go and play Head-Kicker, their favorite video game, all weekend, and the whole thing with Fish Pockets starts all over again. This happens many, many, MANY times, until there is about a zillion Braks and a zillion Zoraks. They come to agree that the only way they'll ever break out of this loop is to time travel to when homework was invented. They go back and meet Merlin the wizard, who invents useful things, and his twin brother Marlin, who invents useless crap, like the flying lawn mower(The double-beer hat was brilliant, though...). Zorak tells the wizards that him and Brak are the presidents of the future, and tells them that the invention of homework causes great sadness and chaos in the future, and that Merlin must un-invent it. They go back to the future (Michael J. Fox, find a lawyer), where Brak's dad says that Lord Wellington's Beef Trapeeze is Brak's favorite restaurant. Brak's parents don't know what homework is, so they could go eat, along with the zillions of Braks.
