PACERS, LAKERS TRY TO CLOSE OUT SERIES TONIGHT

The Indiana Pacers can clinch their first trip to the NBA Finals, but to do so they will have to beat the New York Knicks inside what should be an extremely stentorian Madison Square Garden.The Indiana Pacers have been in the NBA Eastern Conference Finals for Five years and never advanced. In 1994 the Pacers lost the seventh game to the one & only New York Knicks by one point. (1995) The next season they were in the same position except that year it was the Orlando Magic. Once again the Pacers lost in game 7. In 1998 they again lost in game 7 but, this time it was against the Chicago Bulls. Then last year it was the Knicks beating the Pacers in fashion. The Pacers hope to change history tonight, but luck isn't on their side because the home team has one every game in this series. In this series the Pacers have been close to stealing a victory away but, can the put themselves in the finals by beating the knicks at the most famous arena in the world.

The Lakers look to continue the winning ways of the road team in the Western Conference Finals tonight when they visit the Portland trail Blazers for game 6. The road team has won the last four games in this series. The Trail Blazers stole a game at the Staple Center when Scottie Pippen steped up his game and gave his blazers a huge victory to keep them in the series. The matchup to watch is Scottie Pippen against the young maturing Kobe Bryant. Kobe although playing smarter is getting burned by Pippen in this series. It should be intresting to see what coach jackson has up his sleeve to shut his former player down and get Bryant more touches. Jackson was brought to the Lakers to use his basketball knowledge to take them to the finals & he 'll find a way to.
