Healing Cancer Through Balance

Creating health in our bodies is discovered through finding our way back to that place of balance that was our birthright in the first place. Our bodies want to be balanced - physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. There are so many events that occur over the course of a lifetime that seem determined to knock us off balance. We are co-creators in all of these events and actually have more control over the direction our lives take than we give ourselves credit for. WE ARE NOT VICTIMS OF CIRCUMSTANCES BEYOND OUR CONTROL. If you disagree with this statement, then I will not be able to help you and you may not even be able to help yourself. The purpose of this website is to help empower those of you who have been diagnosed with cancer to take control of your treatment path and, in the process, reclaim your natural balance and health.

My name is Ben McCurry. I am 50 years old and a long-time believer in, and practitioner of, complementary medicine. Complementary medicine is any therapy that is used in addition to traditional Western medical interventions. My background is fairly traditional - physical therapy, cardiac rehabilitation and wellness/fitness. From a non-traditional perspective I am a Reiki Master in the Usui tradition. On this website I offer a menu of non-traditional therapies - all intended for the purpose of reconnecting the cancer patient to their own perfect balance - in conjunction with whatever traditional therapies (surgery, chemotherapy, radiation) they are currently being prescribed by their physician.

There are several complementary therapies that are extremely effective in dealing with the often difficult process of chemotherapy. Some of these include Reiki, meditation, creative visualization, color breathing, Esther & Jerry Hicks "Abraham" material, to name but a few. A diligent and sincere application of any of these can help diminish and potentially eliminate the typically unpleasant side effects experienced by most people undergoing chemotherapy and radiation treatments.

Each one of us has the ability to connect with our inner selves - that wise place within each of us that knows what our best path to health and balance is. The most essential vehicle for our journey back to health is MEDITATION. Through meditation you will easily and effortlessly discover which complementary therapies work best for you. There are many different forms of meditation out there and they all work. I personally had tried several methods before settling on a mantra-based form of meditation that has, over the past seven years, taken me on an amazing journey to health and wellness. Meditation needs only to be practiced for 15-20 minutes once or twice a day and can be done anywhere at any time.

After you have made the commitment to start meditating, the therapy that will help you the most (if you are open to it) is Reiki. It is an ancient healing art rediscovered about a hundred years ago by Dr. Mikao Usui in Japan. In the Usui System of Natural Healing, a Reiki practitioner transfers a form of vibrational healing energy through their hands to the patient or recipient. There is much that is mysterious about this ancient healing art - but what is not mysterious to anyone who has ever experienced it - is that IT WORKS! The energy, as it enters the recipient, is highly intuitive and will go where it is needed to heal.

Some of the benefits experienced by cancer patients I have worked with are:
1. A wonderful feeling of well-being, peacefulness, and calm.
2. Easing or complete relief of pain.
3. Significant increase in sleep quality.

Reiki is truly an amazing and wonderful tool in the treatment of all aspects of cancer. It is especially empowering for the patient to become attuned to this powerful energy themselves so they can use it for self-healing during all phases of their treatment.
