I'M OWED $72,000 IN CHILD SUPPORT, HELP ME GET IT!
I am a single mom of three ages 13, 11, and 6. I have tried to get child support for the past thirteen years. Their father (the true definition of "DEADBEAT DAD") owes me over $72,000 in back support. I have been to court many, many times. I feel like nobody cares. "SUPPORTKIDS.COM"???? What a joke, they sent me a REJECTION letter! I was told that "if he has got away without paying for this long, then he most likely will forever". So what is this? Am I suppose to just give up? forget about it? What happened to all these new laws. Cracking down on deadbeat dads, how they aren't going to get away without paying their child support anymore? Why is it that some guys who are behind in child support get arrested (even at work), and some don't. I was informed that the guys who makes some effort to pay will get arrested and put in jail before the guy who makes no effort at all. Does that make sense? I don't think so, I would much rather a little bit of help than none at all. I work full time as a waitress for 11 years now. I still have trouble keeping up, meanwhile their dad is buying new cars, boats, motorcycles, and homes, must be nice! (I still live in an apartment). I am currently in school (studying pharmacy) so maybe someday I can provide a better life for me and my kids. I work very hard and still struggle every day! I am very proud because I have come a long way, and I am accomplishing more and more every day. It would be nice to get a break or maybe a child support check once in awile. (I won't hold my breath), or maybe a little help on medical bills, considering one of my sons has ADHD, and that alone costs me $250.00 a month,(still waiting on that health insurance that their father was court ordered to have on the kids).
I see girls today in my same situation, and just knowing how hard it is to make it, with so much responsibility, and it doesn't get any easier! I don't have a huge bank account, but I still go out of my way to help, financially and sometimes, materially. A nice decorative gift for their home. (furniture, candles, pillows, etc..). I may not be able to truly afford it, but that is what makes me happy. I wish I had someone who would have done that for me.
