ABOUT OUR SADDLE SHOP: Our custom saddle and tack shop is on our horse ranch in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, where outdoor living is a way of life for us and for our neighbors. In our neck of the woods, the cowboy lifestyle still flourishes, and both English and Western riding facilities co-exist almost side by side. We have been making saddles for 19 years for cowboys, ranchers and gamers. In short, horses are our way of life and our custom saddles are built to fit most riding styles.
ABOUT OUR DEMO PROGRAM: WILL WE LOAN YOU A SADDLE TO RIDE FOR A FEW DAYS TO SEE IF IT SORES YOUR HORSE OR IS COMFORTABLE TO YOU BEFORE YOU BUY IT? YOU BET! Our demo policy is as follows: We will ship a demonstrator saddle for you to try on your own horse for a reasonable length of time (we feel 2 weeks is reasonable). We will attempt to furnish a saddle that is similar to your request. Our supply of demos, however, is not extensive and many of those tend to remain on the trail with a brief respite in our shop for reshipping. We will do our best to ship our Demo within 10 days of receiving your written request and payment, but it is not realistic to call on Monday and expect a saddle for a Friday trail ride. Please plan ahead. Our demos go in and out, and we may not have the size or style you need on hand. Please keep this in mind. Our terms are: Demo saddle: $ 695.00 Shipping & Handling fee: $35.00 We accept Paypal, Credit Card, Personal Check, or Money Order: Payment must be received and funds cleared before our Demo is sent to you. You will be responsible for return shipping charges. If the saddle does not meet your expectations, or it does not suit your need for some reason, we will gladly refund $695.00 promptly upon return of the Demo to us. If you wish to order a new Black Hat saddle, $695.00 will be applied towards your purchase. Keep in mind that the Demos will have seen many miles, on horse and in transit. They will have covered lots of territory from coast to coast, so some will not be as pretty as a picture. Your new Black Hat Saddle will be very pretty. Since everybody in the saddle business says their saddles fit most or all horses and are very comfortable, and since every experienced rider knows this is not the case, we want every customer to have the opportunity to look this saddle over and take a long ride in it to determine if it fits comfortably, and that it is made from quality materials with fine craftsmanship. We have had many customers tell us they have purchased as many as 6 saddles which were so uncomfortable on rides that they couldn't use them. Most saddles are pretty comfortable when you just sit in them for a few minutes, but on a long trail ride, they can be pretty rough on body parts. We have this demon policy, because we believe that if you try one of our Black Hat saddles, you will be delighted in our products and our service, you will likely be a return customer, and a good source of referral business as well for us in the future.
ABOUT OUR SADDLES AND TACK: Our saddles, tack and chaps can be directly ordered from photos (we are working on our on-line catalogue), or made to order. If you order a custom saddle, we fit our saddles to both the rider and the horse. Our goal is to craft the finest product, with the finest proven materials available. Every item is built for comfort, durability and safety in mind. If you order chaps, we custom fit them to the rider. We are a full-service saddle shop, so also specialize in saddle repairs.
