Likes, dislikes and ruminations

Stuff that I like:

They say that men are visually stimulated. I like the look of a beautiful woman, especially when she exudes sweetness, intelligence and wholesome charm. Ms. Jan Smithers is a perfect example of such. There was never a more beautiful woman than WKRP's Bailey Quarters, the sexiest, most wholesome beauty on 1980's TV.

Well, except maybe Courteney Cox, back in her Misfits of Science days. Many a young fella was enamored with Gloria, the character that she played. She held onto her irresistible appeal for years to come. (Sadly, I think her looks started to decline a bit by the time Friends came around -- although she was still quite stunning.)

Oh, and arachnology interests me greatly. I wish I could do some field research on these wondrous creatures.

I love Disney's The Little Mermaid. It's my favorite movie, and Jodi Benson is an utterly incredible vocalist. She's also a delight to see perform. I've had two opportunities to see her on stage, and she was awesome.

I love science and technology. I love most scientific fields, although I lean more toward physics than anything else.

Oh, and speaking of attractive women... Courtney Thorne-Smith is simply beautiful beyond belief.

Stuff that I dislike:

There are many aspects of Filipino culture that I detest -- and I don't say that lightly. The dishonesty, the corruption, the penchant for showing off and promoting oneself... it's disgusting.

And I can't stand computer programmers who won't master the basics of good style. Here's an example of what I mean. Crikey, how many times must I explain what a object-orientation really means?

Oh, and I can't stand Adam Sandler. Or the Wayans brothers. Or Pauly Shore. Or toilet humor. This type of humor is the mark of a poor imagination.
