Belladonna Papillons

Thank you for stopping in and visiting my web site. I hope that you enjoy your visit! I have no puppies available at this time. However I am expecting 2 litters of puppies in Jan 2009, so the puppies will be ready by springtime. I also have an adult male that is show quality or would be a nice stud dog to the right home. Please contact me for more information. Or if you wish to be placed on the list, PLMK so I can keep you informed when my litters are born. I do my best to match the right puppy to each person . You are welcome to read on my guest book what some of my puppy buyers have said about me and my puppies. Or sign my guest book if you would like to add your own comments...we would love to hear from you.

I have been owned by papillons since I was a young child, so I am not new to the breed, but have only been breeding papillons for the past few years. I am very passionate about them and what I am doing, so I searched high and low to find quality papillons from other breeders who would trust me with their lines and to do right by them and the breed.

I have a love for beauty with intelligence and that is why I try to do my part to maintain the breed standards and the beauty that has draw us to them in the first place. My goal is to produce beautiful representations of this charming butterfly dog. But I also place equal value on breeding dogs that have excellent genetic health and sound temperaments along with conformation for AKC standards.

The papillon is a happy outgoing elegant little toy dog. They are intelligent with a quick mind making them one of the highest scoring and highest ranking titled breeds in obedience and other AKC sports. The papillons coat is silky in appearance with a resilient quality that sheds dirt quickly with the touch of a brush. They do not have a undercoat and minimal trimming is required . They are often called "wash and wear" dogs. Papillons do not have a doggie order and shedding is minimal and easy to control.

All my puppies are vet checked and are current on immunizations and worming before leaving. I provide health records and recommendations for grooming and feeding. I offer life time puppy support along with a health guarantee. I encourage people to send up dates and pictures, because I love to follow the development of my precious babies. I also send home with my new puppy buyers a CD of puppy pictures as they are growing up along with some of their siblings and parents.

All of my puppies are raised in my home. They are whelped in my bedroom and are handled daily. When they are about five weeks old, they are moved to the kitchen which is a more active place in my home, where they are exposed to various sounds, places, people, and of course other dogs. Most of my puppies are paper trained before leaving my home. Both my husband and I love and nurture my precious babies and are pleased with how happy and well socialized they are when they leave to go to their new families.

I have all the puppies evaluated at 8 weeks for show potentials. So for those of you who are interested in full AKC rights for showing or breeding, I take each person on case by case basis. But even if you are interested in breeding or showing I require that my puppies be part of the family and live within the home. I am a responsible breeder so I only sell pet quality puppies with limited registration on a spay/neuter contract.

Pet quality can be for many different reasons, they could be mismarked, not have the correct attitude for the show ring, too big or too small etc.. Please beware, there are many unethical breeders who do not breed to standard and are breeding down the size of this beautiful and lovely breed. They are often advertise as pocket or teacup Papillons. NOTE: This is not recognized by the AKC standards . It is important that we try to maintain the standard for the health and longevity of this wonderful loving breed.

I know many people who search out tiny or teacup size dogs but do not understand that health issues can often come when breeding down the size . Sad to say it is the dog who suffers. The owners will also suffer because of the increased veterinary expenses or the loss of their precious pet. Please be an informed and a responsible pet owner and only purchase puppies/dogs which conform to the breed standard of the American Kennel Club.

The health and well being of my dogs is my main concern, therefore I do not breed my girls every time they come into heat. My dogs are my treasured pets and not just breeding stock, as with some breeders. They are kept in peak condition and the best of health with proper diet, exercise, regular scheduled veterinary care, and of course plenty of love and attention.

My dogs are NOT raised in kennels, however I do have exercise pens for doggie control which is a must when you own a pack of dogs. And especially so when you have intact males and females to prevent accidental breeding's or multiple sire litters. All my papillons are champion sired or have champion lines from some of the top papillons in the US as well as Sweden, Germany and Canada.

When I place a puppy I want the new family to be in love with their choice of a papillon. Even more importantly is that my puppy be happy with his/her new family. So when inquiring for one of my precious babies, PLEASE provide information about yourself and what you are looking for . I would be happy to talk to you to determine if I have the right papillon puppy for you. I believe once you have been owned by a papillon, you will fall in love with their charming personalities and find they are a very addicting breed!

The price of my puppies will vary depending on the quality of the puppy. Most pets begin at $850. Most show/breeding dogs begin at $1500.
