Cambria County Amateur Radio Emergency Service
Hello,
Thank You for visiting the Cambria County Pa. ARES website.
Cambria ARES is a group of amateur radio operators who dedicate their skills and time to helping out in emergency situations.
We work with agencies such as the Red Cross and Salvation Army
and governmental bodies such as the National Weather Service and the Cambria County Emergency Management Agency.
Our efforts range from tracking dangerous storms as they pass through individual hams areas, to relaying messages from our local 911 Center to disaster sites.
All of our members have undergone training to attain their licenses from the Federal Communications Commision.We also train
as a group to learn how to intervene in emergencies and we have
set up a network of amateur radio stations that are located all throughout Cambria County, as well as links to other emergency groups in our area and around the world.
