Beautiful and Unique Executive Year Around Cabin
Our fabulous Barn House is a "Must See" for every nature enthusiast! Come up north to Pine City and experience the great outdoors at it's best. The Barn House is located just minutes from the Pine City exit, on Highway 35 in beutiful Minnesota. Winter is special up here. The tranquility of the snow falling, the icicles glistening in the sunshine, and of course the snowmobile rides! The Barn House is nestled on a quiet country road, just off the beaten path. Accross from it is a fabulous view of Cross Lake. It even has private lake access, just a few feet away.
This beautiful home is affectionatley reffered to as "The Barn House". It is shaped like a barn (gut never used for one) the roof is rounded, and has charming cedar shakes. The exterior is a combination of stucco and cedar. It has 6 exits to the home. It is over 3000 square feet. It is two and a half stories tall.
It has been the host of many large gatherings. Our most recent party had 30 in attendance. We were only using the kitchen, dining room, and family room. Our largest gathering was 65 guests. A great turn-out for a baby shower! We used the kitchen, family room, and downstairs great room. This home was built for entertaining. It will be a sure crowd pleaser for you and your freinds!
Bring your sleds! Ride on down to the access, and get out on the lake! Minnesota state snomobile trails are just on the other side of the lake! Cross Lake is a great fishing lake too! It joins Snake River, and the next lake to the west is Pokegema Lake. Pokegama Lake boasts of two fine restaurants; Muffies on the Lake, and Woiskie's Floppy Crappie. Just imagine, how much fun it would be! Spending the day riding on the trails, taking a break for some Irish CoCo at Muffies, then heading back to your fabulous home. Warming up with that special someone in front of your brick fireplace, all nice and toasty!
For the mechanic in your life: a insulated 2 car garage, with new garage doors and built-in shelves and tables! The shed is HUGE! Guys... there is ramps going in the front door and out the back door of it. OH it's just right for the pair of sleds or ATV's you have!
This home boasts of may luxuries, you just won't find anywhere else. The built-in fireplace in the Great Room, is just beautiful. The bricks extend from ceiling, to the floor. It is an energy efficent woodburing fire-box. The heat from this fireplace reduces the heating costs DRAMATICLY! There are built-ins on the fireplace wall, just right for your home theater system!
The master bedroom suite has a closet all the ladies will love! The shelves extend from the ceiling to the floor and there are two rods for hangers. The entire closet is over 8 feet long. There is also a very large, double sized closet. The bathroom has a terrific oversized shower. The bathroom as a back entrance which leads to the wood room.
The wood room is great! Just haul in the wood from the side entrance. It leads to the master bath and the great room.
The home office has a seprate entrance. It is wired for an additional phone line. It also has extra wiring to support data lines.
There is also a den, another bathroom with an extra large shower, and a large bedroom. It looks out into the back yard through a large, 5 ft by 5 ft window! Perfect for little ones to watch the wildlife, right outside. Of course, there is a large walk-in closet (with a hiding place under the stairs).
A unique feature of this home is tucked way right back in the corner of this home. The bedroom has a back door - which leads to the master bedroom, AND... a Secret Hidden Staircase! The staircase is like one of those secrect passageways in those old mansions. You just wouldn't expect to find one there!
The main staircase is in the Great Room. It is an open staircase leading up to the second level. At the top, you are greeted by a wonderous sight. The ceiling extends up to a loft!
A pretty spiral staircase leads up to a loft, high above the dining area. There is a huge picture window just below the loft, over looking the back yard.
The Kitchen is HUGE! It is wide open, epanding from the massive center island to the dining area, and encompasing the family room. The kitchen has built in stove-top, double ovens, and a dishwasher. The faucet is a high, angled one to allow extra room for washing those large pans. The center island has large drawers, with steel sliders. Take a close look at the center island. The front side of it has cupboard doors. More Storage! There is a very large, lighted pantry closet at the top of the stairs next to the kitchen. This kitchen has been custom designed by a master cabinet maker, who also designed and built the entire home (and may other homes in the area!). You will see the intricate details throughout the home. It was surely built with pride of craftmanship, and love.
Thru the dining area, you will see heavy french doors, just thru them you will enter into your private tropical oasis. It's a Solarium! Year around fun in the sun. The plants will love the sunlight. The children can play in the sunshine on rainy, stormy days. It is a fabulous hot tub room! The deck wraps around to the dining room door. There is steps leading down twards the front.
There is a full bath on the upper level. It has a great view of the lake. This has an 8 foot counter, and a washer and dryer. The cabinets are plenty in this bathroom.
The bedroom has a huge built-in dresser and lighted cupboard. The window is about 4 ft square. This room has a terrific view of the lake also. The special detail of this room is it has been hand painted by a local artist, to resemble a beautiful garden scene. It also has a very large walk in closet. All walk in closets have lights.
The home is heated and cooled very efficently. The built-in fireplace heats. It has electric base board heat that is on an interruptable rate (reduced). There is Ground Source Heat Pump which heats the home in the winter, and also automatically switches over and cools in the summer. There are two hot water heaters on an off peak rate (reduced). Plenty of hot water! The home is extremely energy efficent.
