ABOUT ME
My name is Nikki, i currently live in San Diego CA but will be moving to Groton Connectiut soon..I am a military wife..I was born on March 5, 1981 in Anniston, Alabama. My father was in the Army so as a kid I moved alot..in 1982 I moved from Alabama to Nevada..then I moved again in 1982 back to Alabama when my brother was born on December 7, 1982 not long after in 1983 I moved to Ventura California were my sister and brother were born on November 10 1983. After that my parents divorced and I moved to Kelso Washington were I grew up..I graduated from Kelso High School June 10, 1999 and on June 22, 1999 I went into the Navy. I graduated boot camp on August 31, 1999. On October 10 1999 I moved to Connecticut were I was stationed for 2 years on the submarine dry dock ARDM-1 Oak Ridge, were I met my husband at and on August 31 2001 we got married. After some persanal problems I was seperated from the Navy on October 1 2001. Then on October 13, 2001 I moved to San Diego.

ABOUT SEA WORLD CALIFORNIA
Sea World California was the first Sea World park to open. It opened in 1964.
ORCAS
Kasatka: captured 10/1978 from Iceland. Before Sea World she lived in MarineLand Canada. In 1974 she was moved to Sea World..she has lived in all 4 sea world parks. she is 17.3 feet long. she was the first killer whale artifcially inseminated resulting in the birth of her second calf Nakai. She is the dominate orca.
Nakai:(pictured) born on Sept. 1st 2001..he weighs in at about 1,000 pounds. Nakai is very interactive with guests..We have played together many times
Keet: Was Born on February 2, 1991 He was born at SWT, on November 7, 1999 was taken to SWC, then was taken to SWO on April 15, 2000.
He was just moved from SWO back to SWC on Feb 15, 2001 along with Sumar, who was moved to SWC on Feb 18, 2001. Keto was taken to SWT on 2-18-01.
Sumar:was born March 14th 1998 to Taima at Sea World FLorida. On several occasions she was seen throwing him out of the water with her tail flukes. The last straw was when she pushed him on the slide out and pinned him..Taimas trainers had to us a harness to pull her off. on March 8th 1999 Sumar was moved to Sea World California..is stay was just over year, in April 2000 he was moved to Sea World Ohio..That park was sold to Six Flags..In March of 2001 Sumar was moved back to Sea World California where he currntly lives. Sumar is 12.5 feet long and wieghs 2,100 pounds. He is a very active orca and often interacts with guests at shamu close up.
Splash: also known as katak..was born on August 15, 1989 at Marineland Canada.
He came to SWC in 1992 at 2 1/2 years old. He has the most scars out of all the orcas at SWC.
Ulysesse: Was captured in November 1980 from Iceland After capture he lived in iceland until December 1981, then was moved to Riolen Safari Park, Spain. he was moved to Barcelona, Spain in 1983 He lived there until February 1994 when he was transported to Sea World California
Takara: Was Born on July 9, 1991 at Sea World California.
to Kasatka Takara recently gave birth to her first calf. It was a female born on May 3, 2002.
Orkid. She was born on September 23, 1988To Kandu V. Her father was Orky II. She is a cross between Atlantic and Pacific Killer whales. She has been an orphan since she was 11 months old. But thanks to Corky who played her surrogate mother, she hasn't really been an orphan.
Kohana. was born to takara 5-3-2002
Corky II She was catptured in December 1969. She has lived at
Marineland of the Pacific in CA and SWC. She lived at Marineland unitl January 22, 1987, when she was moved to SW.
she has had 6 unsuccessful pregnancies, She had 3 live births, She is the largest female orca at SWC. She is around 38 years old

SEA WORLD CALIFORNIA 12-23-2002
Went to SW today arrived around 930 and went down to close up where Nakai, Kohana, Takara interacted with us. Kasatka just did her normal rounds..Uly did the usual laps sam with Corky, Orkid and Keet..Sumar seemed to be in a rather good mood playinf all day..splash also did laps..
