A 3-year-old boy at the movies with his parents died Sunday night when he choked while eating popcorn, the Nassau County Police said yesterday. The police said the boy, Deontea Riley, of Queens, was with his parents at the Sunrise Multiplex Cinemas in Valley Stream when he began to choke. His parents performed the Heimlich maneuver to dislodge the popcorn, and police officers attempted CPR, but they could not revive the boy. Deontea was pronounced dead at Mercy Medical Center shortly before 8 p.m. Patrick Healy (NYT)
