WHAT`S GOING ON?
Emmet Glynn and Isaac Richardson UKTKF 3rd In kata Blackpool
Well done to Isaac Richardson and Emmet Glynn, the only competitors from Avoniel SKC to go to Blackpool and enter the UKTKF Junior Championships this year. Isaac who has been training for nearly 2 years was in his 2nd competition and fought his way to a 3rd place in the over 5ft Kumite. Well done Isaac. Not to be out done by this Emmet who has been with the club a little just missed the finales. One decision did not go his way but it was the referee decision and we all stood by that so he came away with a 3rd place also. Well done guys.
Well done also to the NITKF Belfast Marathon Relay Team again. In to our 6th Year
Once again members of the NITKF combined forces to run the Belfast Marathon for the 6th year running. The team this year were John, Balazs Gerry, Valerie and Niall. We ran it in a total time off 3 hours and 45 mins 00 secs dead and finished 238th out of over 1600 teams very very good. The last team came home in a time of 7 hours 30 mins 17secs. They must have gone home and had a beer then joined in at the end.
Last yerr we raised a total of £500 but so far this year we have raised £1530 but there is still more pounds to come!!!!
Thanks to all who gave generously for our Valerie’s charity the school in Uganda. Valerie and I may be running the whole 26 miles really thinking about it. We are doing half marathons soon so why not the full thing!!!
