The Avoniel SKC was established 1995 and is situated just outside Belfast city centre. The club has a membership of around 20 students who have had various successes at local and national levels. See Avoniel History page.

The instructor is John Richardson. He took up karate in 1984 at the, Rochfords SKC Slough. He gained his 1st and 2nd Dan under the late Sensei Enoeda. He then moved to Belfast and gained his 3rd Dan in October 1998 and his 4th Dan August 2005 under Sensei Kawasoe 8th Dan JKA.

Sensei Kawasoe comes to N.Ireland on a regular basis to grade the students of Avoniel SKC and other clubs within the NITKF which Avoniel SKC is part of.

Come and learn a traditional art, some self defence and grow in confidence in friendly surroundings.

Wednesday nights at Knockbreda Parish Church Hall. 8pm to 9.30pm.
Friday nights at Avoniel Leisure Centre 7pm to 8.30pm.

Knockbreda Parish Church Hall, Purdys Lane, Belfast. Just off the dual carriageway near Forestside on Wednesday night.

Avoniel Leisure Centre Avoniel Road is just off the Albertbridge Road Belfast on Sunday afternoon.
